Urban Sync was engaged to prepare and manage the development application for the new building at 169-175 Spence Street, Bungalow, which was designed to support a range of uses including industrial, warehouse, transport and indoor sport and recreation activities.

Fast forward to today, and it's fantastic to see the development already coming to life, with several tenancies already occupied and operating.

Stuart being shown through the finished building by our client, Ron from Tong Sing Pty Ltd was a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the journey from the original planning proposal to the finished development.

A great outcome for our client and another project we're proud to have played a part in. 👏

Another one to highlight! ✨

Urban Sync is proud to have assisted Five Rivers Group in securing development approval for their new purpose-built office at 266 Mulgrave Road, Westcourt.

Working on behalf of our client, we managed the planning approval process for the Material Change of Use application, helping navigate the statutory planning requirements to support the delivery of a modern commercial office that enhances this prominent site.

Congratulations to the Five Rivers Group team on your new office, we wish you every success in your new space. 🏬

A big thank you to everyone involved in bringing this project to life.

From Planning Approval to Open for Business 🔋☕
It's always rewarding to see a project come full circle.

Back in 2023, Urban Sync was engaged by our client to prepare and manage the Development Application for a new mixed-use development at 99-101 Draper Street, Portsmith. The proposal included a purpose-built facility for R&J Batteries, incorporating warehouse and low-impact industry uses, together with a food and drink outlet, specifically a coffee operator drive-thru.

Fast forward to today, construction has been completed and both businesses are now officially open and trading.

A big congratulations to our client and everyone involved in bringing this project to life.

Our team attended the Cairns Chamber of Commerce July Business Luncheon, where Pete Faulkner from Conus Business Consultancy Services shared an insightful economic outlook for 2026.

It was a great opportunity to hear about the economic trends shaping Australia and Far North Queensland, and what they mean for local businesses and our region's future.

A big thank you to the Cairns Chamber of Commerce for hosting another fantastic event and to Pete for sharing his knowledge and expertise.

Throwback to the successful outcome for our client, with an approval granted for a 4-Unit Multiple Dwelling development at Moody Street, Manoora.

The project will see the redevelopment of an existing site into four modern, two-storey townhouses, helping to increase housing choice and supply within an established urban area close to services, transport and employment opportunities.

This approval demonstrates the potential for well-designed infill development to make efficient use of existing urban land while aligning with the planning intent for the area.

We had the opportunity to attend the June Corporate Luncheon, where we heard from The Hon David Janetzki MP, Treasurer, Minister for Energy and Minister for Home Ownership, as he presented the Queensland Government's 2026 State Budget.

Events like these are an important reminder of the value in staying informed and connected. Understanding the broader economic and policy landscape helps us continue providing planning advice that supports our clients, and the sustainable growth of our region.

Thank you to the organisers for hosting another insightful event.

Have you seen these signs displayed in front of development sites before?

These signs are part of the Public Notification process required for IMPACT Assessable developments.

When a development triggers Impact Assessment under the Planning Scheme, the proposal must undergo a formal public notification period. This process helps ensure the community and neighbouring properties are informed about the proposed development and provides an opportunity for the public to review the application material and make a submission if they choose.

Public Notification is an important step in the development approvals process and requires careful coordination to ensure legislative requirements are met.
