Are you working in the IT MSP industry and want a new challenge? Have we got a deal for you!

We're looking for a Level 2 or Level 3 tech to join the Ignite MSP team. Someone who can provide fantastic service to our ever-growing base of awesome customers. Someone with solid Microsoft skills and outstanding customer engagement.

This isn't an entry level or graduate role - we need someone who can hit the ground running, ideally someone who's worked in an MSP environment before and is familiar with the tools, the systems we use (both internally and for our customers) and the requirements of the role.

If you're an experienced Level 2 who is looking to step up your game, or if you're a Level 3 who wants to bring your skills and experience to bear and have a big impact, then either way there's solid opportunity for personal and career growth and advancement as we (both Ignite and our clients) grow together.

This is an onsite role based in our HQ in sunny Cairns. It's a great spot with fantastic work/life opportunities, whilst still being connected to both domestic and international destinations.

We’re exploring up in Cape York on holidays this week, but Starlink lets us stay connected to home and ensure that everything keeps rolling along for our clients. Last week we bid farewell to Mike, who's on to bigger and better things.

Most of our clients will have spoken to Mike at some stage over the past almost-12 months that he's been here, and would attest to his depth of knowledge and his hearty laugh. Mike's been an integral part of the team, and we wish him all the very best.

2023 - that's a wrap!!!

We've officially finished up for the year, and what a year it was! We'll be taking a well-deserved break to spend some time with our families and friends. We'll be back, recharged and ready to go from Monday the 8th of January.

To all our clients, partners, suppliers and friends - thanks for such a great year! We look forward to working with you all in 2024 to kick even more goals.

Heads up - Ignite Office will be closed Tuesday the 12th and Wednesday the 13th.

Just a quick heads-up to let you know that we'll be closing the office for a couple of days this week due to the expected arrival of TC Jasper. Assuming all goes well, we'll be back in the office on Thursday, however that may change depending on the conditions at the time.

At this stage the cyclone is expected to cross the coast just north of Cairns around 10 AM on Wednesday morning. I expect we'll be dealing with significant rain from tomorrow midday as the conditions build.

The Ignite team will be online tomorrow from home, but I expect we'll be in and out whilst we do our final cyclone prep.

At some stage I expect we'll lose internet, and probably mobile phone reception as well. I've got a Starlink kit at home so I'll be back up online as soon as the winds die down enough to redeploy the dish, but we may be incommunicado for a time.

If any clients need assistance during this time:

If urgent, please call Matt on his mobile. If I can't answer please leave a voicemail outlining the problem and I'll call you back as soon as I can. I'll be prioritising jobs, so please leave a detailed message so I've got a good understanding of the issue you're facing.

If non-urgent, please email [email protected] and you'll get a ticket created - it'll be waiting in our system for us when we get back online.

If all goes well we'll be back on deck on Thursday at this time, barring any significant weather impacts. We'll see how we go!

For our clients in all parts south, thanks for your patience with us and your understanding over the next couple of days while we batten down the hatches.

For our clients in the Far North - I hope your prep has gone well and you come out the other side safely and with no injuries or property damage to speak of.

Today's reminder is to keep an eye out for phishing emails - they're still out there, and they're getting a LOT more convincing.

Strong MFA authentication goes a long way to mitigating the impact of any successful phish against your team. Combined with a holistic security approach (email security, endpoint protection, MDR, and so on) you can best protect against these sorts of attacks.

In a new scam that MailGuard is now blocking, attackers are posing as Microsoft, warning victims that their password is about to expire, and attempting to steal account credentials.
