The resident “guard fish” is usually happy sitting there like rock and doing nothing… but today he’s cruising around and inspecting what I’m doing. Every so often he comes back to watch me organise frags and then goes away to be a seemingly sessile stone again 😂

Very satisfying when corals start fusing together…. But we’d prefer to see it happen in your home aquarium instead of our farm 😂. Coral Essentials doing the work to grow them quickly.

When we grow different species on our racks in such close proximity we often get “combo” tiles that are accidentally made. Sometimes they are undesirable or like this one they are stunningly contrasted! Lunar eclipse zoa and fireworks cloves make a great combo.

Lovely Lobos :) they take a significant amount of time to grow out compared to most other species, but well worth it when you get every colour under the sun!

Physogyra bubbles looking great. Encrusting over the edge and looking very gelatinous and jiggly.

This black (very dark green) branching Codium algae pops up in places around one of the systems. We tried to propagate and farm it because it looks great and causes no problems for corals as a display piece. However it doesn’t seem to play ball and we just get pieces randomly appearing on plugs. This is a great example of how it looks great along side and among corals like this Montipora “wild fire” that we grow.

You can even prune the algae back to bonsai it into shape and size.

Some funky darker “grafting” on this classic green Dallas. We keep red polyp and regular Dallas in this raceway and the grafting is becoming more common…. Has anyone else’s regular Dallas been doing this?
