You know your property styling business inside out, and you’ve even got a week with no installs to get stuck into building it out 💻

Software alone won't fix a clunky process ❌

Dubsado is incredibly powerful, but out of the box, it’s just an empty shell. It doesn't know how you run your styling business.

If you want it to act like the ultimate virtual wing-woman doing everything from managing your leads to sending through a feedback request at the end of your project, you have to tell it exactly what to do.

Many automations make light work, but only if they are set up right ⏳

The systems in my business mean more to me now than they ever have.

Coming off maternity leave, My time is more valuable than it’s ever been.

My boundaries are more important to me.

I don’t have hours and hours to be sitting on the computer doing admin.

That time needs to be spent doing my client work to bring in income for my family.

Everything has become so much clearer in my business. I want to be doing the work that I love in the small amount of time that I have.

Which to me looks like moving away from servicing everyone and narrowing down on my favourite industry to work in.

I want to enjoy every second I have working with clients that bring me so much joy.

Oh hey, it's me Amy just bursting out of the shadows of my maternity leave 👶🏻

When I rebranded in 2024 I never thought that by early 2025 I would put everything on hold and take a year off, but here we are.

Still here, still a certified specialist and working with incredible clients.

BUT my capacity and work days look so much different now (and for the better!)

Your Dubsado should be your hardest-working employee 🤝

It should:

✅ Manage leads while you sleep
✅ Take 60 seconds to send a quote
✅ Send forms automatically
✅ Make sure your clients a looked after even when you are knee deep in the work

But an employee is only as good as their training.

If your Dubsado feels clunky, it’s a strategy problem, not a tech problem.

Just as our businesses grow and evolve over time, so should your tech stack 💻

When I started my business in 2018 my tech stack looked like this:

👉🏻 for all my client management and onboarding (not lying, it’s my OG and has been with me since the beginning)
👉🏻 Trello for basic lists so I didn’t forget anything
👉🏻 Mailchimp for my mailing list and email marketing
👉🏻 Quickbooks for all my accounting
👉🏻 Gmail for a free email address
👉🏻 Wordpress for my website

Most of these tools were free (or very low cost) which I needed at that stage of my baby business. As I’ve grown over time and my needs changed, so did my tech and It currently looks like:

💸 Dubsado (still here, I’m never going to leave it haha)
💸 Squarespace for my website and digital product sales
💸 Zapier to connect all the things and automate
💸 Loom for recording all my project overviews and video libraries for my clients
💸 Zoom for client meetings
💸 Google workspace for hosting my custom domain email and online file storage
💸 Flodesk for email marketing and my lead magnet delivery
🆓Clickup for detailed list project management
🆓 Slack for communication with my team members (and other groups I’m in)
💸 Hnry - Australia for my accounting

It may seem like there is a lot on that list, and most of these tools come at a premium cost, but they save me time to work on income generating activities and they are all serving their purpose and working well for where I’m at. They do their Individual jobs well, and when it doesn’t seem like they can talk to each other natively I have Zapier to help me.

In the next 6 months a few of these things like my website, email marketing and checkout tools are going to change when I’m ready to launch my new branding (can’t wait for this, has done an amazing job).

I try and make sure I’m reviewing my tech on a regular basis to make sure everything is serving its purpose and if I can cancel a paid subscription that I’m not making the most of I will (my last victim was Clickup, trust me the free version is actually pretty good)

As our businesses grow and evolve, so should our tech. Is it time to review yours?

And just like that, there are 48 days left of 2022 🤯

I was falling into the trap of slowing down, but I’m trying make the most of it! After having some time off, I’m going to spend December/January working *on* my biz instead of in it. I feel like it’s the perfect time as most of my clients are getting ready to take some time off!

I’ve got a few things on the list including -

🥳 My husband and I both turning 30 eek (not biz related but still a huge milestone!)

💙 Going through and implementing my shiny new brand strategy & identity with *new name incoming* 


👩🏻‍💻 Get my showit template ready to launch 


📩 Working on a new digital product for all my tech savvy clients who want to DIY but don’t want to figure it out all on their own

📝 Refining my service offerings to make sure I’m giving my clients the best experience possible when working with me 


This year has been more lows than highs, but I’m committed to making the most of what 2022 has left and I’m excited for what 2023 will bring! 🪩
