Loved learning so much history on my visit to Scotland this year, a country with so much history and beauty.

Ever wondered where the phrase tying the knot really comes from? The answer is a beautiful old Scottish custom. 💛 It is called handfasting, and it is far older than the modern white wedding.

A couple would stand together, clasp hands, and have their joined wrists bound with a cord or a length of tartan ribbon. In some tellings the bond lasted a year and a day, a trial of the marriage before it was made for life. It was a promise made in front of the whole community, hands quite literally tied together, and from it we get the very words we still say today when two people marry.

Wow what a day for a wedding !! Sandstone Point Weddings was stunning on Saturday, add a stunning bride and groom and thei cute baby who stole the show ! not sure if he shared his snakes with his friends though !!
We enjoyed beautiful live music and the flowers were stunning !!

There are some days you just pinch yourself really, with the weather we have had and for what was predicted for today, I was heartbroken for Tayla and Mitch but wow, all our creative visualisations worked great and we had the most perfect ceremony this afternoon. Stunning location, awesome live music and stunning flowers. A drop dead gorgeous bride, a proud and very cool groom , today ticked every single box.
Was sooo excited for them and for their family and friends.
I know they will be kicking up their heels at the stunning Sandstone Point Weddings
