WJN's Tuesday's Trials
Incarcerated students face unique challenges in accessing education. Charlotte impressed as a highly motivated student who saw studying to be a source of purpose and stimulation. However, in prison, she had no access to online learning and had to rely solely on hard-copy materials. In addition it seemed the communication, feedback, and follow-up from the Prison Education Officer was often slow and problematic.
However by Charlotte granting Julie access to her student portal Julie was able to access the USQ Study Desk, subject content, information, grades, email contact with teachers, student forums, and discussion sites. This allowed Julie me to provide relevant information back to Charlotte via telephone and mail.
