BADJI UPDATE | Simpler buying with the ACT Government 🤝
From 1 July 2026, new procurement changes will make it easier for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, sole traders and SMEs to work with the ACT Government.
At Badji, we’re sharing what this means for our network 👇
What’s changing?
✅ Less paperwork
✅ Simpler buying processes
✅ More consistent and fair opportunities
What this means in practice:
🔹 Under $500 – usually just a verbal quote, with no written contract required
🔹 Under $500,000 (or $1 million for construction) – government buyers can go to one written quote from a certified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander business or local SME
These changes are designed to make it easier for our businesses to access government work and grow.
If you’re part of the Badji network, this is a great opportunity to get involved.
