On such a nice afternoon. I tackled the shed.
10 boxes of stuff!!!!

I had an idea of what was in some of the boxes, but some were a complete surprise.

One box was full of bills, receipts and old leases.
I filled up my two bins very easily.
Even the boxes that I knew what was in it, I still went through and culled them even more.

5 boxes left.
Baby clothes, baby toys, important legal papers, my oldest sons box and Christmas.

I had to clean the boxes before I could add them to my growing pile to take with me.

This container has been floating around my kitchen for the last 7 years.

I was just about to throw it out, as I have no idea what is in it or what the things go to.

I was looking for a part for the sink, as I moved the dishwasher and needed a part so it doesn't flood the kitchen.
Yes, it was in this container.

My motto is usually throw it out.
I'm glad I didn't this time.
I'll hang onto the container until I move.

Wacky Wednesday

All my 19yo dishes are put into a container, rather then sit on the bench
I can then move out of sight.
Eventually she has to do them.

Today is getting the jobs done that you think next time 🙄🤣
I cleaned my fridge before the big shop.
This arvo is sweeping out my carport/porch and getting rid of spiderwebs from my porch.

What a week.....
Had to isolate again until this Wednesday 🙄

So I got stuck into organising each room, but the room where child was quarantining.

I have so much stuff to drop off at salvo's
I found so much stuff that I never thought I had as well.
My bins are full with extra stuff to go as well.

I should have posted every day as I did it as now it's all too much for one post.

I started in the kitchen and went through all the stuff.
I found so many lids that we no longer have the drink bottles or the Tupperware container.

Reorganised my drawers.
So everything that we use is in the one drawer (second draw)
I have had the dividers for years.
The top drawer has cutlery, third drawer has teatowels, reusable dish cleaning and tablecloths.

Threw out a whole heap of stuff that we don't use, cake tins that have seen better days.

Even found stuff that I had bought to use at the mother's day stall, but due to covid we didn't have one.

So many chargers for phones and computers.

Above the fridge is where I keep all our medicines, rapid kits and extra things all in containers (phone chargers, dog stuff, extra house things)

Below are photos of the finished work.

2022

My goals for this year is downsizing.
I like to use the name GOALS rather than resolutions. But then I did a course on achieving my goals and now use the word INTENTION.

As it's more achievable, it gives you something to work towards.
This year I am really downsizing my house and things in it.

You make think that I don’t have that much left in my house to go through.
But organising is an ongoing process.
Do I really need to keep all the kid's schoolwork?
Do I really need to have 5 platters? especially since I have not had people over for the last two years.

My goal is in 10 years that I will be moving interstate and living in a very smaller place than what I have now.
Plus we will be moving into a smaller three bedroom, one bathroom house this year. Which is so different for a big four-bedroom, two bathroom, plus separate dining, living and study area.

So why not start to downsize now and see how much I can live without.
The houses that I have been looking at are so much smaller and the amount of stuff we have will not fit.

When I think back over the years and when I was happiest with my living arrangements, it would be when I had next to nothing. As the things I did have were special and I didn't have so much baggage.
Although that was 5 kids earlier and I didn’t need to have so much for one child.

So, my INTENTIONS this year is to DOWNSIZE and bring PEACE into my life.

Where do I begin?
Walk into every room and look at what I have and see if we are using it, need it for future use (Christmas etc) or if I am just holding onto for whatever reason.

Sounds easy enough…… not really.
We all hold onto stuff that we paid money for or thought the kids would like, but they now don't use.

With us moving this year, I am taking boxes into the room, especially the kid's rooms, and seeing if I can fit everything into one box.
I'll let you know how we go.

And this week is perfect, as we have to isolate until Friday 😪🙄😁

Tuesday tip.

Use the sandwich maker to cook your rissoles.
So much easier, both sides get cooked at once.
Then pop into oven covered with foil for 20 mins.

So I just spent the last 40 minutes adding my CD collection to my Spotify account.

I must admit I do still listen to the CDS, but the first picture is all the ones that were skipping songs or just wouldn't play.

The second picture is what I have left of physical CDS.

I would listen to the music as I was doing stuff around the house.
And when the cd stopped working, I put into a pile ready to go.

With all the technology we have, do we really need to have a physical form of listening to music??

But I have asked for an aux cord for Christmas so i can listen to my music in the car.

What else is there to do on a beautiful sunny day?
Washing all the stuff animals of course.

With the spring weather here, while it lasts, I'm catching up on washing things that normally don't get done.
This weekend it's the stuffed animals.

While they were drying, I wiped out the container that they are stored in.

Once dry put them away.
