Catch us at the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) Conference next month in Melbourne.

This year, FRSA Executive Director, Jackie Brady, and Manager Policy & Research, Robyn Clough will be presenting on day one of the conference on a member mapping study FRSA published in late 2025 – Mapping interventions for people using family violence: research and practice insights. Our mapping exercise shows that FRSA members successfully engage almost 6000 people using violence each year. We also identified several research and practice insights that warrant deeper exploration, to strengthen the national effort to reduce and ultimately end family and intimate partner violence.

We look forward to bringing these insights to a broader audience.

FRSA Member organisations support around 6,000 people who use violence in intimate or family relationships each year, the majority of whom are men.

As a sector with significant experience delivering targeted intervention programs, FRSA is looking forward to contributing to the conversation and development of standards for men's behaviour change programs, helping strengthen responses that support accountability, safety, and lasting change.

Today is National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day.

This year’s Children’s Day theme is ‘Living Our Truth’, it honours the power of truth-telling, the sharing of knowledge across generations and the importance of telling our stories.

The day is raising awareness for the bright futures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and the potential for their voices to pave a new path for our nation. As always, we support the voices of our children in calling for a future where they are proud and empowered by their culture to speak their truth and be listened to by all Australians.

This week is Homelessness Week from 3-9 August 2026. The week is hosted by Homelessness Australia to raise awareness of the impact of homelessness, and the solutions needed to end homelessness.

The theme for Homelessness Week 2026 is “Homelessness Action Now”.

FRSA is proud to publish our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 1 July 2026 – 30 June 2028. This is our fourth strategy to embed reconciliation within our work and our third to be endorsed by Reconciliation Australia as part of the RAP Program.

We were delighted to work with 100% First Nations owned and women-led creative agency, Yirra Miya, who created our RAP artwork and designed the RAP. Artist and founder of Yirra Miya, Leticia Forbes, has beautifully captured the work of FRSA and our reconciliation journey in her artwork. We are grateful for her deep and thoughtful listening.

As we continue our reconciliation journey, we will work hard to ensure that our commitment translates into meaningful action through the three core pillars of the RAP Framework: relationships, respect and opportunities on a foundation of strong Governance.

We look forward to building our relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community partners and friends, to further developing our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, rights and experiences, demonstrating our respect for First Nations leadership and self-determination, and supporting the equal participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the work we do.

For five decades, NAIDOC Week has celebrated the voices of our communities — steady, unapologetic, and proud. Each year, its themes have called for truth, celebrated culture, honoured resistance, and reminded the nation of who we are.

This NAIDOC Week, we are proud to stand with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to celebrate 50 Years of Deadly.
It’s a tribute to the people who built this movement. the Elders who stood firm, the organisers who made space, the artists who turned resistance into expression, and the communities who keep showing up, year after year.

National NAIDOC has always been more than a week — it’s a platform, a protest, a celebration, and a statement of survival.
