Reconciliation Week marks two major milestones in our nationโ€™s history: the anniversary of the 1967 referendum (May 27), when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples were included in the census for the first time, and Mabo Day (June 3), when the High Court recognised Native Title and overturned the principle of โ€œterra nulliusโ€ โ€” the colonial doctrine that claimed the land belonged to no one.

Many First Nations people fought alongside the broader community, and the 1967 referendum remains one of the first times the nation came together with overwhelming support for a โ€œYesโ€ vote.

Today, members of our Pipeline Talent team proudly took part in the National Walk for Truth in Canberra, walking from Reconciliation Place to Parliament House.

As Reconciliation Week begins, it was a powerful moment to stand alongside First Nations peoples and allies, walking together in solidarity

Weโ€™re honoured to be part of this important event and remain committed to contributing to meaningful reconciliation.

The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is ๐—”๐—น๐—น ๐—œ๐—ป, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

The artwork for this campaign is by renowned Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung artist Otis Hope Carey, who applied his distinctive style to create a colourful and optimistic visual representation of people from all walks of life being โ€˜all inโ€™ to make change.

Today is National Sorry Day

Today marks the anniversary of the tabling of the Bringing Them Home report, which exposed the truth of Australiaโ€™s Stolen Generations history and, for the first time, brought this history to national attention.

As an Indigenous-led organisation, we honour the strength, resilience, and survival of those affected and stand in solidarity with First Nations peoples, committed to walking together toward a more just and inclusive future.

In 2026, healing remains unfinished and requires ongoing action. All Australians have a role to play. Learning, acknowledging, and sharing the truth of Australiaโ€™s Stolen Generations history is essential to healing and meaningful truth-telling.
