Yesterday, a close friend and I were exploring travel ideas for 2027. She is older than me and has travelled... she also has a large family and a new puppy to consider. She was not sure on what travel excited her, her interest and what was a "bucket-list" item... she felt fine about letting go of the travel bug. Then this morning, I (re)heard this quote from TS Elliot , and thought immediately of our discussions:
"We shall not cease from exploration,
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time."
Well, all reflecting on this poem and what it meant to me, is that the purpose of life's journey is not simply to discover new places or experiences, but to return to familiar things with greater wisdom, understanding, and appreciation. The "exploration" is inward and outward. Life has a funny way of bringing us full circle.
We spend years chasing dreams, searching for answers, travelling, learning and growing. Then one day, we look at our family, our home, our work, or even ourselves with fresh eyes—and realise what was always there.
BUT - always a but... good ol' Elliot doesnt say we should stop exploring, in fact he says to not cease ... The goal is to keep exploring so life never stops revealing itself. Life isnt over until it is over ... the exploration continues with the journey. There's always another bend in the path, another horizon to reach, a new person and peoples to meet, and another way of seeing the world. Take that step, see the wonder in possibilities.

This might be my favourite story yet. What started as a tame family lunch to celebrate my uncle's 94th birthday turned into the most laugh-out-loud conversation about headstands, flowers in unexpected places, and why boomers are being left behind by underground culture. We even invented a new drink to cope with it all. Trust me, you want to read this one..."

This has to be my most fun blog so far. What was supposed to be a tame overnight trip to celebrate my uncle's 94th birthday—you know, nice family lunch at Dee Why, Stella Blu: Italian by the Ocean, family history convers...

A weekend getaway in Berry NSW is on the cards -

Last Friday, my buddy, Chris and I took a spontaneous turn on the highway for a day trip to Berry NSW. We'd stopped by on a previous Sydney trip (quick loo stop) and this charming country town completely stole our hearts...

Enjoy your wonderful life spontaneously this weekend -

After last weekend's simplicity - music, slowness, and real engagement—I started thinking about ways of being. All those words we use to describe aliveness: spontaneity, flexibility, adaptability, curiosity, and the ones...

It's that naughty time of year friends - whether or not you like Halloween, it is a brilliant opportunity to put on that alter ego and play... or, if you are community minded, then just enjoy meeting your neighbours -

Okay, I get that this blog may cause a few hairs on end, but I think it is time to rethink, accept, adopt and adapt this yearly celebration of horror and ghoul, that also seems to draw so many in. And because Adlibbingl...
