Card surcharges on eftpos, Mastercard and Visa ended on 1 October. If your business never surcharged, nothing changes. If it did, the cost of accepting cards did not go away; it moved from the customer's receipt into your margin, and the only question is whether you have measured it.

Three things worth doing this month: pull the last three merchant statements and work out the real percentage you pay; decide whether to absorb it or lift prices by that amount; and check that no surcharge is still configured in your POS, your invoicing template or your online checkout.
