Ask a practice owner what their main responsibility is and you'll usually hear something about strategy or growth.

The honest answer is people.

Who's in the business, what seat they're in, and whether they're doing the work consistently.

Get that wrong and no strategy will save you.

Every year I set aside time and money to go and learn something that has nothing to do with dentistry.

This year it was AI and marketing, and I took three of my team along.

Here's my thinking.

The practices that do well over the next decade will be the ones who saw this coming rather than reacted to it.

I can't help anyone see it if I'm not out there looking myself.

So we went, we learned, and now the work is turning that into something dental practice owners can actually use.
