Great news that the Police are focusing on crime and anti-social behaviour in the CBD, and good that they are working to make sure that those who need social services support are getting it. An enhanced Police presence is a positive thing – and will help ensure that Canberra is seen as a safe and fun place to be out, either at night or during the day. It would be great if we could get some big screens in Garema Place for the World Cup match on Saturday. Fans would love it, local hospo businesses would love it, and it would be a shot in the arm for our CBD which is still feeling the impacts of construction.

A packed room yesterday at our Budget Lunch to listen to Treasurer Chris Steel explain his Budget for next financial year.
There were lots of questions form our audience, lots of concerns about Payroll tax and commercial rates increases, but also recognition that there were some positive announcements about stamp duty and "Missing Middle" housing.
One of the big (but more light-hearted) questions on the minds of audience was: "When will the Bird Man Rally be back?". No clear answers on this but we're not holding our breath.
