They’re closely connected, but they’re not the same thing.

Your internet connection brings the internet into your home. Wi-Fi is what your router uses to connect your devices wirelessly to that connection.

That distinction matters. If Netflix is struggling in the back bedroom, for example, it doesn’t necessarily mean your internet connection is slow. Your Wi-Fi coverage, router location, walls, distance, and other factors can all affect the experience.
