Most businesses manage risk function by function. Safety owns safety. Quality owns quality. HR owns people.

Inside each function, the controls are usually strong.

The amended Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) comes into effect on 1 August 2026, bringing a greater focus on risk-based safety management and Safety Management Systems.

The biggest change isn't simply the legislation. It's the expectation that organisations can demonstrate how risks are identified, managed and continually improved.

πŸ‘‰ Review whether your current systems support proactive oversight or reactive response.
