The Cheaper Home Batteries Program begins tomorrow. Let's help you break it down!
Eligible battery systems
- A single battery or a system of modular battery cells designed to function as one unit.
- Minimum of 5 kWh and a maximum of 100 kWh.
- The battery must be capable of utilizing a Virtual Power Plant, but you don’t have to use it.
- Must have a preexisting solar installation.
Additional capacity is eligible as well, provided the existing battery hasn’t received a discount offer through the program.
Now the important bit, how much will you be saving?
Your savings will be based on the kWh (capacity) of the battery.
The lowest size battery with access to the rebate is 5 kWh’s and you’d be looking at about $1500 in savings.
If it's something larger, like a 15 kWh system, you’d be looking at savings of around $5000.
One thing to remember is that these numbers are a conservative estimate of your savings; it could and likely will be higher than the numbers given.
