All weekend, every weekend, nice wines, good times!

It’s deep winter out there at the moment….which is good stuff if you’re a garden, but if you’re a real person who needs warmth and love and care and wine then you’d better stay in doors!

This week we have welcomed back a late flourish of local pine mushrooms to the menu, sitting perfectly beside light pillows of gnocchi. Sydney rock oysters have hit their absolute peak. Cauliflower gratin is back and ready to tuck you into bed and our carrots are basically x rated. A few off menu specials if you know the secret wink.

Lunches are huge at the moment with a bit more room available both dinner services this week.

Some seductive shots of recent plates….

Brent has elevated the focaccia again and the combination of pork ragu with gnocchi and buttery sage is how you are going to survive this winter. New shapes thrown daily with our amazing new pasta extruder and some of the most flavourful bitter salad greens (and pinks and reds) coming out of Kelseys organic garden.

We are bottling some exciting new wines next week with new fiano, Riesling, Grenache rose and Sangiovese coming soon. Along with…our newly branded bistro red - see a peak at .studio new label design! He also took these photos…what an absurdly clever chap.

A massive weekend. Heaters on!

And then it was winter.

The first proper cold spell has been such a nice change of pace. We’ve had a nice slow week of moving wines to barrel, bottling a few small wines, visiting amazing growers like Kelsey from , ran into local darling chef .erdwards from whilst sniffing out pine mushrooms on local hills.

Its been a really good time. Gentle reflections harvest and deep inspiration from new autumn produce and crisp mornings. And fires!! What a time to be alive!

It’s a huge weekend here with not much room for bookings other than tonight. Big long tables full of happy people and a shed load of mums. Walk-ins are always very welcome. Martini’s are always very good idea.

Go have a great weekend out there. This town is absurdly good…you can’t loose.

So many great 40ths, 50ths, 60ths and 70th birthday parties booked over winter….im going to write a definitive thesis on which generation is the best based on how good these parties are. Where are the 30ths and 80ths?

LOOOOONG WEEKEND!

The longest weekend. Luxury hospitality and amazing aromas all weekend at Boomtown. Saturday lunch is fully booked but we can shower you with love tonight and tomorrow night and Sunday lunch. But you should definitely book!

Look….i was going to take a really nice photo of the tasty new pasta dish Brent and Eileen have on the menu this week…but then I looked at the time and had to be at the Phee Broadway at 1pm to catch Castlemaine The Musical, a hugely hyped show in the !!!

So, here it is : spaghetti alla chittara with mussels, tomato and chilli…served in a takeaway container on a rainbow seat out front of the library. A very delicious late summer into autumn plate, great with a glass of fiano.

It’s been a huge week of picking our vineyards, processing late into the night, putting kids to work and supporting our striking teachers and giving this shed its big Friday glow up for a big weekend of country hospitality!

So much love for this town after watching that epic production. We are surrounded by talented, generous, colourful characters in this town….and so many cliches that cut close to the bone. It’s perfect. What a place!

WINERY & BISTRO…

We’ve hit that time of year when the winery turns back to its proper function of turning beautiful local grapes into very nice wine. It’s a great time to visit the shed and usually lines up with peak summer produce and more bearable temperatures! Wild aromas and vibrant colours everywhere.

We’ve been betting our old vines in the new Faraday vineyard and making regular trips to Heathcote to chew grapes and pinch figs! This is going to sound a bit weird…but I had the nicest lunch in the bistro last Saturday. It really is great to sit back and enjoy the amazing plates that Brent, Eileen and Josh create….from organic growers less that 50kms from the shed whilst drinking wines that Brock and I grew and made…served by an awesome team of staff. Bit of a pinch me moment…the realisation of a dream that took 10 years to grow.

Anyway…come down, we have tables free across the weekend and would love to welcome you!

T H I S W E E K E N D :

Feels like maybe the scorching hot summer days are behind us and we can now enjoy the milder part of summer…but just surrounded by a lot of dead grass.

It’s both Friday the 13th and Valentine’s Day this weekend which feels like it’s worth noting. I’m not sure what it means; a weekend that is meant to be both spooky and romantic…but we are about to find out!

Nice weather, so many tomatoes and zucchini’s, peppers and cucumbers, fiano and chilled reds, pasta and porchetta, stone fruit and chocolate for lovers. Come on down!

We are open from lunchtime today for all those wanting a long ‘business lunch’ or retired people wanting to just show off with all their spare cash and free time. We are here for you all!

Plenty of tables for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow, but tomorrow night is a million date nights all at once and tables are hard to find. We always have a spot for you to come for a glass or two and a bowl of chips.
