I am incredibly honoured and grateful to have been nominated for the Ignition Top 50 Women in Accounting. It is humbling to be recognised amongst many talented and accomplished women in our industry. However, after much consideration, I have decided not to proceed with the nomination this year.

Let me tell you why - My decision is not a reflection of any lack of appreciation for this incredible recognition but rather a reflection of my desire to continue focusing on personal and professional improvement.

I believe that success is a journey, not a destination, and there is always room for growth and development. While recognition from my peers is always appreciated and means so much to me, the most important accolade is the knowledge that I am continually striving to improve myself and my contribution to the industry.

I remain deeply committed to advancing the role of Women in Accounting, and I will continue to work towards progress and change in this field. I am grateful for the support and encouragement of my colleagues, mentors, and peers, and I look forward to working together towards a more inclusive and diverse industry.

I want to offer my heartfelt congratulations to all the incredible women nominated this year. Your achievements and contributions to our industry are remarkable and continue to inspire me to strive for excellence.

Thank you again for this nomination, and a huge thank you to Brooke At Ignition and Ignition for the continued support, promotion and celebration of Women in Accounting.

Resilience First Aid is about being proactive – a preventative approach to mental health.

Resilience First Aid (RFA) as a mental health certification teaches you strength-based skills to build resilience in others. You learn how to spot signs of low resilience, learn language to talk proactively, and skills that build resilience.

I am incredibly proud to be finishing the year as a Certified Resilience First Aid Responder.

Precision Taxation Accounting & Management is committed to Workplace Wellness through our CARE with Precision program. This program extends not just to our Team, but our Clients and the broader community.

Today we connected once again to discuss our learnings and experiences reading and embracing The Resilience Project - Finding happiness through Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness.

The Resilience Project formed part of the agenda at our CheckYoSelf Day earlier this year. CheckYoSelf days are an essential part of the culture at Precision and feature heavily in our We Are Precision (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Program), CARE with Precision (Wellness Program), and Precision With SWOL (Professional Development Program).

It is an honour to develop and lead the Team through these programs, which are constantly evolving. The culture we have fostered at Precision gets stronger each time we share our experiences as a Team. These diverse and unique stories open our eyes and minds influencing growth and evolution.

CAREwithPrecision enables our Team to remain connected, mentally strong and aligned with Precision's mission, vision, values, and external social responsibilities.

We're proud of who we are and what we stand for as individuals and collectively as a Team.

Having worked in places where these programs or even the idea of them would be dismissed, I am grateful to Peter McCarthy & Precision Taxation Accounting & Management for embracing and promoting these programs for the benefit of the Team, clients, broader community and industry.

We can all make an impact (big or small) and inspire others to be the change you wish to see, whatever that may be.

I am incredibly honoured, humbled and thrilled to be included in the 2021 Top 50 Women in Accounting Awards, supported by Ignition. With over 1000 nominations from 8 countries, I am very grateful to the judges and Ignition for this recognition.

There is no shortage of exceptional women who are making an impact on our industry and communities. So being included in this list for a second time, especially given this year's theme, is incredibly meaningful.

This year's theme focused on celebrating the unique and diverse stories of women striving towards personal and professional progress in our industry. It celebrates our unique differences, experiences, and voices as women in the accounting industry and beyond. It highlights the extraordinary work being done to make our industry more diverse, equitable, and inclusive.

I may not be the loudest in the room, so being able to inspire my peers and colleagues by promoting the benefits of embracing diversity and inclusion in our firm and industry is a privilege.

Thank you to Ignition and the 2021 Women in Accounting Awards for continuing to promote the work of women in our industry and for shining a light on their successes, helping us inspire our colleagues and peers to do the same.

It is an incredible personal and professional honour to be nominated once again for the Ignition Top 50 Women in Accounting.

This year it has special significance as I, like many of my colleagues, have worked tirelessly to provide much-needed support to our industry, clients and community as we continue to manage the impacts of the pandemic.

Throughout my career, I have remained passionate about DE&I and breaking the bias so that women in industries everywhere can feel empowered to stand up, speak out and inspire change.

My experience in our industry has taught me that individually, as women, we can achieve great things. But when we support, encourage and empower one another we can create a lasting impact.
