Changes coming for low density asbestos fibre board (LDB) classification.

LDB is a lightly compressed board which looks like cement sheeting or plasterboard – but it crumbles easily, which can release asbestos fibres into the air.

From 1 May 2021, LDB will be classified as a friable (easily crumbled) asbestos containing material. This means you must engage a class A licensed asbestos removalist to remove LDB.

If you work with asbestos or asbestos containing materials, find out how this change may affect you. https://www.asbestos.qld.gov.au/general-information/low-density-asbestos-fibre-board

FULL TIME POSITION VACANT – KNOX VETERINARY
Knox Veterinary in Dalby is looking for a veterinarian to join our practice in mid April 2021. We would prefer an experienced vet who is keen on equine and cattle work. However exceptional new graduates who are eager to learn are welcome to apply. Knox Vets is a genuine mixed practice located west of Toowoomba and offers the opportunity of both small and large animal work. Whether in clinic at Dalby, out in the paddock or at one of our weekly district clinics, this position offers both diversity and reward.
At Knox Vets we have a great motivated team of 8 veterinarians, 6 veterinary nurses, 2 junior nurses and 3 administration support staff. We are seeking a team player who is prepared to ‘have a go’ at everything and is loyal, mature minded and highly dedicated to providing excellent veterinary care.
We are a busy practice and offer an extensive range of services within the mixed animal practice setting. We have a loyal client base which enables us to work-up and treat complex cases; this offers great opportunity to service a broad range of species while expanding our knowledge.
We have plenty of ‘toys’ including in house diagnostic tools such as digital radiography, blood biochemistry, ultrasonography for all species, orthopaedic equipment for companion animals, endoscopy and plenty more. The practice is equipped with Vision software.
Cattle work revolves predominantly around pregnancy diagnosis and bull breeding soundness and general beef cattle practice. Equine work includes vaccinations, routine stitch ups, colic’s, dentistry, repro, lameness and race track work. Interest within these fields will be highly regarded and professional development will be offered as part of the employment package.
Support from our senior veterinarians is always available. We are seeking an applicant who has a good work ethic and a willing attitude to contribute to the dynamic Knox Team.
We encourage ongoing further education throughout the year. This employment is for a full time veterinarian with rostered one in 4 on call. Remuneration is negotiable according to experience.
