Evolution Mining Ernest Henry Operations

13/10/2026

Last week we welcomed five representatives from Evolution’s Ernest Henry Mine to speak with our Year 9 –12 students about the range of career opportunities available in mining.

In 2027, there will be school-based traineeships on offer with EHM across a variety of fields, which is an exciting opportunity to gain practical experience while completing school!

Thank you to the Ernest Henry team for sharing their knowledge and helping our students explore future pathways.

Students interested in a school-based traineeship are encouraged to contact Miss Liz.

Here's a snapshot of Ernest Henry's FY26 contribution to the region.

In FY26, Ernest Henry contributed $690,000 to local community organisations through community investment programs that support positive social, educational and economic outcomes.

Beyond our direct community investment, Ernest Henry contributed approximately $81 million to the Cloncurry economy through employee wages and procurement from local businesses, while a further $219 million was spent with regional Queensland suppliers.

Ernest Henry also generated $39 million in royalty payments to the Queensland Government, contributing to the delivery of essential services and infrastructure across the state.

Still reminiscing about this time last week at the Beat the Heat Festival Paddock Party! What an incredible community event, packed with fantastic entertainment and plenty of fun. The iconic Mine Cart Rally was, as always, a crowd favourite.

We were proud to support the event as a major sponsor, with members of our Ernest Henry team also volunteering their time behind the bar to help make the event a success.

Congratulations to the Cloncurry Shire Council Communities Team for delivering an outstanding event for our community.

Cloncurry’s Meeting of the Mines is in a class of its own in bringing together government, industry and community leaders to discuss the opportunities that abound across the Cloncurry Shire, the heart of Queensland’s North West Minerals Province.

We are proud to be the Diamond Sponsor since the beginning and look forward to continuing to support.

At this year's event, our Chief Operating Officer @ Matt O’Neill highlighted copper's critical role in electrification and the energy transition, and how this has and continues to drive Evolution's growth strategy. With Ernest Henry Operations, our planned acquisition of the Greater Duchess Copper Project and the Cloncurry North JV, we're well positioned to unlock long-term opportunities across the region.

Our General Manager Ernest Henry Operations @ Joe Mammen shared insights into the operation's role as a cornerstone asset in the region, with a contribution of ~$6 billion to Queensland from our 100% acquisition in 2022 and out to 2040 based on its current mine life.

With hundreds of people gathering in Cloncurry for the fourth Meeting of the Mines, it certainly was the place to be last week.
