This not so little filly is learning to get used to the bit and bridle.

During this process, she also learns how to turn, stop and back up, all whilst getting familiar with the saddle.

Depending on the horse, we usually get to this stage at around day 3.

Happy Father’s Day to our favourite Dad and to all the Dad’s we know 🍻

Carl has almost finished up his first block of breakers - we’ve had two big two year old fillies and a two year old palomino gelding with us for the past couple of weeks, all are getting lots of rides out in the paddock at the moment.

Last couple of lessons will be practice loading on to the float and learning to stand while being shod.

Thanks Phil Dawson Cutting Horses for a great cutting clinic at BELJAY Performance Horses over the weekend. Not my usual dicipline, but it was good to spend time working on this young Tassa and Smart gelding's technical skills.
