Mönch Before we purchased the van, we knew we wanted to be involved in the health industry, but we really had no idea how we could do it in a unique way.

Blendco was founded in September 2013 with the purchase of an old smoothie van that had previously attended music festivals and other events around Victoria and NSW. At that same point in time, our friendship group were in the midst of a ‘blend trend’ in which we would blend just about anything we had in the fruit basket and turn it into a smoothie, with the difference being, we would refer to it

as a blend, and not a smoothie. Quite simply, it was an inside joke that somewhere along the line, got way out of hand. It was almost as though we had placed an embargo on the use of the word smoothie. You could say blend, or nothing at all. And it was on the back of this ridiculous idea that we found our unique entry point into the world of health. In the end, it was basically decided for us. We would call our company BlendCo, short for the Blending Company, we would sell fruit and vegetable blends (not smoothies) and we would travel to every music festival Victoria had to offer over the 2013-2014 summer months. Which is exactly what we did. After just one Summer of blending, we had amassed over 10k social media followers, and in one small pocket of Melbourne, forever changed the way people would refer to their smoothies. It didn’t take long for us to see the difference we could make in the industry, but it dawned on us that a single smoothie van simply wouldn’t cut it. Of course blending was still the game, but why stop at fruits and vegetables? Thus we created our second product, The Superfood Blend. A mix of 7 organic superfoods formulated in a specific ratio designed to improve your skin. With the intention to always create truly great products, we decided to consult a Thai herbalist by the name of Kiki to formulate our blend. With 27 years experience, her wisdom comes from the roots of herbalism and she instinctively knows how to blend Superfoods and Herbs together to create the perfect result. In creating the formula, Kiki applied the power of synergy – different ingredients in the right ratio’s leading to a blend that is far more healing than the ingredients taken separately. We increased the size of our team, from 3 to 14, created a website, leased an office in Richmond and focused all of our efforts on increasing the size of our reach around the world. Shortly after the launch of The Superfood Blend, our social media following exploded to 30k people. We’ve since received orders from over 41 countries, including orders from every state and Territory in Australia and 41 States in the USA. On the back of this success, and with the company’s goal of making health easy and accessible to everyone in the world, we began plans to introduce our third product, Cold Pressed Blends, with the concept of “blending” once again in the forefront of our minds. Cold Pressed Blends are effectively a blend of fruit and vegetables, cold pressed and bottled for consumption at a later date. A cold pressed blend is effectively the same as a cold pressed juice, but with the addition of a range of different superfoods enhancing the nutritional benefits of each drink. Rather than offering the juices to the public for individual consumption, for now our juices are only available online as a cleanse. The difference between our juices and other cold pressed juicing companies is in our bottling method. HPP is a newly discovered pressurization technique in which a freshly cold pressed juice is placed into a high pressure chamber, killing off all of the harmful bacteria that causes normal cold pressed juices to go off after just a few days, but at the same time, retain all of the nutrients and enzymes that make a cold pressed juice so good for you. This therefore allows us to ship our cleanses around Australia and to towns typically out of reach. We believe we’re really starting to make a difference in the Australian health industry, and have no plans of slowing down. One thing that has become abundantly clear to us is that success does not come without the support of an amazing team, and we think we have the best of the best in ours. Since our inception, we have always taken great pride in our hiring process and conversely our internal company culture. We want to be known for having the best culture of any company within Australia. In 20 years time, we want to be known as the company that completely changed the health industry. The company that made health products better and more accessible for everyone. And we’re going to achieve this one amazing product at a time.

Hello there, me again. For reasons that are probably very obvious to all, this is one of our favourite food photos. Look at the appealing blue stone to blue bowl to blueberry contrast. While there’s really no obvious connection between this bowl and this company’s core product. Both begin with the letter ‘b’ and that, quite frankly, is enough for this writer. Also

Is this not the most perfectly rotund looking bliss ball you’ve ever laid eyes on. And yes this writer does mean rotund. Round, curvaceous, full of fibre*, healthy*. In the world of bliss balls, there is no higher praise. Disclaimer: * may not actually be a synonym of ‘rotund’.

We don’t claim to know the best toppings to a pizza or the perfect cooking time for a medium rare steak. What we do know is a bit about fruits, seeds and nuts. How to grow them, mix them, combine them and turn them into deliciously healthy balls. Of course, being modest Australians we would never brag, but if you’re sitting there thinking “these guys must know their ****” then that’s cool.

If you’re looking at this image and thinking, gee that packaging looks a lot like a work of Japanese inspired art. Then you sir/mam are our kind of person. If however, you do not share the thoughts of the aforementioned person then that is absolutely fine too! Art is subjective and interpreted uniquely through the lens of each individual person. In saying that, this is definitely a work of Japanese art. No doubt about it.

Bars were everywhere, everyone made bars and ate bars and went to bars and did barre. There really was no end to it. Balls however, now that seemed new. Or so this writer thought! Suddenly balls were more popular than bars. There wasn’t a café or supermarket without them. We had to separate the grain from the chaff. We focused on café’s first and trusted the palate’s of chefs. They’re never wrong. At least that’s what they’ll tell you.

The year was 2013, Avocados were a fruit and not yet a beacon of the housing crisis faced by millennials. Active wear was exclusive to the gym and Fro-Yo meant leaving your Petit Miam’s in the freezer. It was also the year we turned 23 and discovered that with a little elbow grease, we could refurbish an old smoothie van and gain free entry into every music festival on the East Coast of Australia. Fast forward a few years and more specifically to a time of year when the weather wasn’t so warm and the nearest festival was a little over 2,000km away. A new idea spawned. And boy was it beautiful and curvy and round and full and that’s probably a little bit too much information but here we are. Anyway, for now, keep rolling. I mean scrolling* Nothing to see here. Yet..
