Made here, ready to move.

Supply pressure doesn’t always come with notice.

With four manufacturing sites across Australia and teams on the ground, AKD can support customers when demand shifts. By coordinating supply between our sites, we help reduce delays and keep product moving when it’s needed.

Because when timelines shift, reliable supply makes the difference.

Australian made. Built to deliver.

When your customers are relying on you, supply certainty matters.

AKD’s Australian-made timber is backed by four manufacturing sites across the country, providing a strong and dependable supply network - reducing risk, improving availability, and giving customers confidence when volumes or timelines shift.

It’s supply built for trade, not guesswork.

Meet Anita!
Anita Allen joined AKD in 2024 as a Sales and Service Trainee in a hands on role, quickly immersing herself in the business and gaining valuable exposure to operations, customer service and retail partnerships. That early experience laid a strong foundation and has since seen her progress into her current role as NSW Sales & Service Coordinator, where she continues to build her capability and grow her career at AKD.

“Participating in internal development programs has supported both my professional growth and personal development. That experience strengthened my confidence and really solidified my desire to continue building my career at AKD.”

“Trust your own abilities and don’t wait until you feel completely ready before stepping into a new challenge. This industry can be demanding, but it offers so many opportunities to grow.”

Congratulations to the organisers and volunteers on another great AKD Otway Trail Run over the weekend.

Great to see some of our team out on the Old Beechy Rail Trail getting involved.

We’re proud to support this event and see it grow every year, with funds raised going towards the Colac Area Health Foundation Wellness Centre Appeal and Rotary programs.

Meet Brooke!
Brooke McEwan is our Brand & Communications Coordinator, looking after marketing and communications across the business, both internally and externally. Her role focuses on keeping people informed, connected, and proud to be part of AKD. Having been with the company for several years, Brooke’s role has grown significantly over time as she’s stepped into new opportunities.

“AKD took a chance on me starting a completely new career at 30 when I applied for a finance administration role. After a couple of years, I began assisting with marketing and quickly realised how much I enjoyed that side of the business. I built up the courage to ask about changing roles, and AKD saw my passion and potential and created a new position for me. I haven’t looked back since.”

“Having a supportive team and taking part in leadership training has given me the confidence to back myself, and I’ve grown this role into something I’m really proud of today. If you’re passionate about something, speak up - because you never know where it might lead.”

Meet Sharon!
Sharon Christie-Johnston, HR/Payroll Coordinator, is a well known and respected part of the AKD Oberon, bringing an incredible 46 years to the site and timber industry. Growing up in Oberon and inspired by her father’s long career in forestry, Sharon started her career as a creditors clerk in a small, family owned timber mill in Oberon and, over the years, took on a wide range of office roles as the business evolved through different ownerships before becoming part of AKD.

“Back then, I had no idea it would grow into the large national timber company it is now. It’s been amazing to see how much the business - and the industry - has changed over time.”

“It’s also been rewarding to watch the industry change - with more training, safer workplaces, and seeing more women on site with real career pathways, including trade roles.”

Meet Emma!
Emma Methven is our Colac Drymill Manager, overseeing the dry process and leading teams within a key part of the operation. Coming up on eight years with the business, Emma’s journey is one of growth, learning on the job, and stepping into leadership opportunities she never initially planned for. Within her first two years, she stepped into a team leader role - beginning what would become her leadership climb within the business, and now leading the drymill.

“I actually started at AKD through pure luck. I heard it was a great place to work and applied as a process worker - little did I know that within my first two years I’d step into a team leader role and start moving into leadership.”

“I’ve made mistakes and learnt from them just like any other person who has never been a leader. What I’m most proud of is seeing more women in the industry than ever before, especially moving into production leadership roles - that’s a massive win in a traditionally male dominated area. I never saw myself as a leader, but I’ve realised I’m setting an example of what other women could achieve if given the opportunity.”
