Last night’s 2027 Halliday Awards were a fantastic reminder of the strength and talent in the Australian wine industry. With so much talk lately about industry challenges, it was inspiring to see the sheer quality on display. A massive congratulations to all the winners and finalists, to our beloved Yarra Valley and to the enduring spirit of the Australian wine industry.

Here at Oakridge, we are beyond proud to have been named a finalist for Winery of the Year for the fourth consecutive year. It’s a nod to the daily grit of our entire team. We are also incredibly proud of our scores across the board, with 17 of our recent releases landing 95+ points.

The absolute highlight was seeing our 864 Funder & Diamond Drive Block Chardonnay 2024 awarded 99 points. It's our highest score ever for this wine—even topping the 98 points it earned when it took home Wine of the Year!

We couldn't ask for a better community to be a part of. Congratulations again to everyone recognised last night, and thank you to everyone who continues to support and drink Australian wine.

Another brilliant result from the Halliday Wine Companion! 🌟 We are incredibly proud to see our 2024 Vineyard Series Henk Chardonnay awarded 96+ points by Philip Rich.

Grown in the striking red volcanic soils of Woori Yallock, this vintage is defined by its incredible purity.

Here’s what Philip Rich had to say:
"A brilliant green gold. The purest and most aromatic of the three Vineyard Series wines in '24. Aromas of stone fruits, apple blossom, subtle oyster shell and jasmine. A hint of bacon even. Very pure on the palate with a very fine vein of acidity running throughout."

The critics say it's drinking beautifully now, but it also has the structure to evolve over the next ten years. (And as Philip notes, it's worth picking up a few to see how they develop!)

We are absolutely thrilled to share that our Oakridge Blanc de Blancs 2019 has just been awarded a stunning 97 points by Philip Rich for the Halliday Wine Companion! 🥂

Good things take time. Made from 100% Yarra Valley Chardonnay using traditional methods, this special release spent over five and a half years (66 months) on lees to develop its signature complexity.

Here is what Philip Rich had to say about the freshly released 2019 vintage:
"A very bright green gold. Tiny, persistent bead. Discreet with aromas of fresh-out-of-the-oven baked apple, citrus scents and a gentle nuttiness. Gently caresses the palate, which is very even, chalky and long. Lovely wine from start to finish!"

Other top wine critics have praised it as an "elegant, seamless release" packed with roasted nut, grapefruit, and fresh sourdough notes—with some even noting it's a better drink than many premium imported Champagnes.

Four consecutive years.

We are incredibly proud to share that Oakridge has once again been shortlisted for Winery of the Year in the 2027 Halliday Wine Companion. To be nominated for this prestigious honour four years in a row is an extraordinary milestone—a testament to an unwavering commitment to craft that happens day after day, vintage after vintage.

Reflecting on our inclusion, Anna Webster of the Halliday Tasting Team noted:
“...quality has remained a constant at Oakridge... Seventeen of the 21 wines Halliday looked at for the ’27 Companion received gold-medal scores, an impressive feat made more so by the regularity with which this ratio is achieved, year on year."

An achievement like this belongs to our entire estate team—from the vineyards to the winery.

To our fellow finalists, congratulations. We look forward to celebrating the vibrancy of Australian wine at the awards ceremony this August.

This trophy stands as a benchmark for what our unique patch of the Yarra Valley can achieve when guided by rigorous standards and a commitment to the long journey ahead.
