We harvested the Jim's Picnic Riesling 2026 last weekend on another beautiful morning in the Canberra District.

Vintage 2026 is ticking along at a gentle, even pace, much like our ferments, including the Shoreline Rosé in tank and the Tiger Tiger Chardonnay in barrel. "Recent rain has slightly extended the ripening season," Alex says, "but the past few days of warmth and sun are coaxing our reds along to full phenolic ripeness.

"Overall, it's a vintage in which we're seeing lower yields, but great concentration of flavour and typicity in the wines so far, and I'm looking forward to seeing the essence of this vintage fully reveal itself over the next few weeks."

✨️ The 21st vintage of the Marked Tree Red. ✨️

This week, we release the Marked Tree Red Shiraz 2024.

"What a beautiful shiraz. Everything just so; it’s perfectly poised and immediately appealing, although it will age gracefully if you can wait... Silky tannins sashay across the medium-bodied palate and, with the lithe acidity, the finish is long and lingering," writes Jane Faulkner in the .

While Huon Hooke writes in , "A really stylish shiraz and remarkable value."

A sister wine to Alex's first release under the Collector label, the Marked Tree Red Shiraz 2005. That first vintage, of course, went on to win NSW Wine of the Year in 2007, before the 2005, 2009 and 2025 Marked Tree Red Shirazes took home the Red Wine of Provenance Trophy at the National Wine Show in 2016. The common thread of place, and the suitability of shiraz for our cool-climate region, runs across the vintages, and it's a delight to share the 2024 with you now.

🌱 At this time of year, the team is busy staying ahead of the vines' Grand Period of Growth - shoot-thinning, wire-lifting, mowing and brush-cutting the undervine row, setting the vineyards up for success in the latter part of the season.

As always, spring keeps us busy in the vineyards, especially when we are fortunate to receive well-timed spring rains, warm temperate weather and good growth. 🌿🍃
