Vote 1. Anita Lindemann
Well the time has come for me to get back to working for my community. I have nominated as a candidate for the Donnybrook Balingup Shire, with elections held October 21st. However this year it is only by postal and there is an option to choose preferential voting.
As I am not aligned with any group and like to remain independent, I am asking for your vote as No 1. Anita Lindemann.
Thank you
Below is my introduction.
I drove through the Shire in 2010 and liked it so much I stayed.
I am originally from Canberra and have had a wide variety of occupations and experiences.
These include being a parent, pursuing a successful corporate recruitment career, generating income for “not for Profit” organisations in various managerial roles, working remotely mentoring Apprentices and Trainees, educating and upskilling young jobseekers.
People may remember me from the local markets, where I started a small environmentally sustainable business many years ago. I grew this to be a very successful local manufacturing business, an online, retail and wholesale entity, remodelling an old industrial building and creating a bespoke premise. I have recently sold, passing on knowledge and opportunity to the next innovative entrepreneurs leaving me time to commit to a new vocation.
I am a hard worker. I am at my very best when contributing towards a greater cause, being of service to others and committing to the sustainability, prosperity and happiness of my community.
I believe in supporting local business to enhance continuous employment opportunities and maintaining services to ensure the health and wellbeing of our diverse, Donnybrook Balingup Shire residents.
I have served on Council previously, 2017-2021
I bought many motions to Council, some were successful, such as Shire support for the expansion of the greater Wellington National Park. Or joining the responsible café movement, prior to Covid and the State Governments implementing regulations to ban non bio degradable single use plastic items and the introduction of the container deposit scheme.
Arranging deputations and presentations from a variety of knowledgeable individuals designed to inform and give rise to ideas, that may assist in future progressive policies, was an opportunity I utilised as a Councillor.
Examples included:
*Glenn Ozzy Orley from Total H**p Company on the growing, legalities and many uses of the H**p plant.
This resulted in a Councillor organising a free H**p Symposium, held at our local library, proving very popular with standing room only.
*Brooke Divine from Steam W**d Control, Cape Life
On the control of weeds using steam, not glyphosate.
*Open Water Swimming, WA, Marketing Executive
The benefits of swimming for the community including health, a life saving skill, fundraising opportunities, increased use of our indoor pool for training and shining the spotlight on our fresh water catchment, the Glenn Mervyn dam for an event to highlight eco tourism.
Council decided to hold a very successful open water swim event, December of 2021.
I am committed to representing the community's interests with independence, pragmatism and fairness. I believe in being of service and contributing positively.
