Earlier this year, Capire facilitated an ‘Enquiry by Design’ workshop to inform the Rochester Structure Plan. This plan is being prepared by Campaspe Shire Council to establish a long-term vision and framework to guide how the town grows.
The workshop brought together town planners, subject matter experts and community members to address major challenges, such as planning for future growth while managing flood risks. Community members worked directly with technical experts to explore and debate opportunities, challenges and trade-offs.
The workshop was thoughtful, practical and grounded in local knowledge – a reminder that communities are not barriers to good planning; they are essential to it.
