As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting crucial initiatives, GJK Facility Services proudly collaborated with the Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA) to mark International Women's Day in a truly meaningful way. Philanthropists Jaqui Maree and George Stamas AM were honored to stand alongside the esteemed researchers at a special event held at CERA.

The occasion served as the launchpad for groundbreaking research aimed at safeguarding women's eye health, particularly during pregnancy. At the heart of this endeavor is our donation of a state-of-the-art AI-assisted portable camera. This cutting-edge technology will play a pivotal role in an innovative trial that offers eye screenings in obstetrics clinic.

Led by the expertise of Professor Lyndell Lim and Associate Professor Andrew Symons, this research endeavor aims to develop novel methods for assisting women with diabetes in monitoring sight-threatening eye conditions during pregnancy. It's a vital mission with far-reaching implications for the health and well-being of countless mothers and their newborns.

Speaking at the event, Professor Lim underscored the significance of our support, emphasizing that without the generosity of GJK, such essential research would not have been possible. Our contribution ensures that more women with diabetes can experience the profound joy of witnessing their newborn's face with clarity and vision.
