Every Australian homeowner has been there.

The electricity bill arrives.

You look at the total.

You look at it again.

Then the investigation begins.

"It's the air conditioner."

"No, it's the kids."

"It has to be the gaming console."

"What about the kettle?"

Meanwhile...

The TV is on.
The fan is running.
Three devices are charging.
And nobody remembers turning anything off.

The truth is, most households use more electricity than they realise.

So let's settle it.

šŸ‘‡ What's the first thing you blame when your power bill lands in your inbox? Let us know below and contact us so we can see how to change that for your next upcoming bill!

"If solar is so good, why does everyone keep trying to sell it to me?"

It's a question we hear more often than you'd think.

The truth is, most homeowners aren't against solar.

They're against being pressured into making a decision without getting clear answers first.

Some of the most common concerns we hear are:

• What happens when it's cloudy?

• Will solar actually reduce my electricity bills?
• Is battery storage worth it?
• How long does it take to see a return on investment?
• What happens if I move house?

They're all valid questions.

Because every home is different.

And what works for one household may not make sense for another.

At Auswell Energy, we believe the conversation should start with your questions, not a quote.

So tell us:

What's the one thing that's stopped you from considering solar?

šŸ‘‡ Leave it in the comments and we'll answer honestly, alternatively contact us today for a quote!

The biggest shift happening in Australian homes right now isn't solar. It's electrification.

Across the country, homeowners are replacing traditional gas appliances with electric alternatives such as EV chargers, induction cooktops, heat pump hot water systems and reverse-cycle air conditioning.

Why? Because electricity can increasingly be generated at home.

The interesting part is that many households are making these upgrades without checking whether their solar system is still suited to their needs.

A system that worked perfectly a few years ago may not be optimised for the way your family uses energy today.

At Auswell Energy, we believe solar should be designed around your future energy needs, not just your last electricity bill.

So tell us:

What's already electric in your home, and what upgrade are you considering next?

šŸ‘‡ We'd love to hear from you!

ā˜€ļø Did you know that two neighbours can install identical solar systems and end up with very different savings?

It often comes down to one thing:

How they use their electricity.

Here's a simple example:

⚔ If you're home during the day and running appliances, you're using your solar energy as it's being generated.

šŸ”‹ If you're out for most of the day, excess solar is typically exported to the grid.

šŸ’° The catch? Exported energy is often credited at a lower rate than what you'll pay for electricity later in the evening.

That's why solar isn't just about system size.

It's also about understanding your household's daily energy habits.

When are you home?
When do you use the most electricity?
How much of your solar energy are you actually consuming yourself?

These are the questions that can significantly impact long-term outcomes.

Would you know the answer for your household?

šŸ”‹ Australia's energy landscape is changing rapidly.

Over the past year alone:

• More than 266,000 home batteries were installed nationwide
• Residential battery storage grew by approximately 7.7GWh
• Australia is now installing over 1,000 home batteries every day

To put that into perspective, that additional storage capacity is comparable to around 40 large-scale grid batteries.

At the same time, the Federal Government has expanded its battery program from $2.3 billion to $7.2 billion and is targeting more than 2 million battery installations by 2030.

For homeowners, this shift is about more than technology.

As feed-in tariffs decline and evening electricity costs remain a concern, many households are looking at ways to store excess solar energy for later use rather than sending it back to the grid.

Do you think home batteries will become as common as rooftop solar over the next decade?

ā˜€ļø Millions of Australians have embraced solar over the past decade.

But while your solar system may be the same, your household probably isn't.

Many homeowners have added:

šŸš— Electric vehicles
ā„ļø Additional heating and cooling
šŸ  More people in the home
šŸ’” More appliances and technology

All of these can have a significant impact on how much electricity your household uses.

That's why it's worth asking:

ā“ Is your current solar system still meeting your home's needs?

A quick review of your energy usage could reveal opportunities to improve performance, increase savings, or prepare for future upgrades.

Australian households are using energy differently than they did a few years ago.

Whether it's charging an EV, running heating and cooling for longer, or simply powering more devices throughout the home, electricity usage patterns continue to change.

As a result, more homeowners are exploring ways to make greater use of the energy their solar system produces during the day.

The question isn't always:

ā˜€ļø "Should I install solar?"

It's often:

šŸ”‹ "Am I making the most of the solar energy I already generate?"

Understanding how and when your household uses power can be a valuable first step before considering any future energy upgrades.
