Over the years, I have developed a certain amount of skill in translating what clients are looking for. However, nothing and I mean nothing beats a good brief. Supplying clear, concise information doesn’t just make my life easier; it saves the client money, and who doesn’t want to save money? Spending five minutes detailing exactly what you’re looking for can save hours in the long run.

Should you get AI to create a logo for your business? It’s certainly a consideration for a new business, and whilst it seems a very cost-effective way of creating your logo, there are a number of things you need to be aware of.
1️⃣ Firstly, AI often creates logos that resemble competitors, risking brand confusion and a lack of uniqueness.
2️⃣ Secondly, and this is a big issue. Brand creation involves important technical details, particularly regarding file types. For example, most AI-generated logos are provided as screen-quality JPEGs, suitable for social media posts but not for professional or print use. These files are flat, often have a white background, and cannot be scaled without becoming pixelated or losing quality.

I asked AI to create a new logo for me. After several revisions, it still insisted on an unbalanced, top-heavy design. As a starting point, it's not too bad; however, as a finalised logo, it's a "hard no" from me.

Design has one job: make information effortless to absorb.
For this leadership program poster, I focused on warm colour tones, a clear hierarchy, and structured sections to keep a lot of content feeling calm, inviting, and easy to navigate.
A balanced mix of imagery, typography and layout helps guide the reader naturally from top to bottom.
Good design should feel intuitive — and this piece was crafted with exactly that intention.

Use contrast to guide attention. Try larger headings, bolder weights or stronger colour differences. Contrast creates focus and helps your message stand out.

Avoid stretching or squashing logos (this makes me cry). Resize proportionally using corner handles only. A well-preserved logo keeps your brand looking sharp and professional.
