The Wrights family story in Margaret River winemaking began in 1973, when Henry and Maureen Wright planted their first vines alongside pioneers like Vasse Felix, Moss Wood, Cullen and Leeuwin Estate. What started as a small family dream soon grew into an institution, a cellar door that welcomed more than 150,000 visitors in the 1980s, famous for its iconic White Port and warm hospitality.
Today, the next generation is writing a new chapter. Ian Wright has re-established the vineyard in Cowaramup, bringing back beloved wines while honouring the traditions his parents built. With cuttings from the original vines and the same pioneering spirit, Wrights Vineyard carries forward nearly five decades of passion, resilience, and innovation.
From past to present, our wines are more than bottles, they’re pieces of Margaret River history.
