Introducing Howard Park Jeté En Pointe Réserve Perpétuelle.

At its heart is our perpetual reserve, established 16 years ago and build gradually year upon year, by retaining a portion of sparkling base w**e from each vintage.

Bringing together w**es at different stages of maturity allows the reserve to develop greater complexity over time while new additions maintain the freshness and vitality essential to the Jeté style.

This is a w**e for the curious and one that reflects the patience, experimentation and attention to detail that has shaped our sparkling program over many years.

Young Gun of W**e's latest deep dive is focused on aged Cabernets and this is what judge Rhiannon Lahatte had to say about the 2013 Howard Park Abercrombie Cabernet Sauvignon. ⁠
⁠
“Yes! This jumps out of the glass – crunchy cherry, rosehip, pomegranate, hibiscus. Elegant and complex, with a flinty mineral note. Candied sage leaves, cooked in brown butter with a bright, cherry red plum combo with a delicious graphite finish with lingering acidity. Very fresh. Amazing to see something with age look so young.”⁠

This week’s news that we received a gold medal at the Perth Royal W**e Show for our Jeté Rosé is an encouraging sign that we are on the right track. ⁠

Howard Park’s Jeté Rosé has, in the last two years, won a trophy at the National Sparkling W**e Show, a gold medal at the Melbourne Royal w**e show and the National W**e Show. ⁠

As Chief w**emaker Nic Bowen notes,⁠
“Our w**emaking and viticultural approach focuses on doing the little things well — the accumulation of thoughtful decisions in the vineyard and w**ery that, collectively, build greater precision, character and expression.” ⁠

Decision time. Once a year the senior w**emaking team, our chief viticulturalist and the Burch family assemble to participate in an allocation tasting. This is where w**es from the recent vintage are tasted, discussed and assessed to determine which parcels of w**e will make which w**e. It's an opportunity to see how the w**es are evolving in tank or oak, and a chance to debrief the vintage that was. ⁠

Family w**es named after real people that have had real input.⁠

Meet Leston, Jeff Burch's father who helped plant our Margaret River vineyard and is the inspiration for our Distinguished Sites w**es - 'Leston Cabernet Sauvignon' and 'Leston Shiraz'. ⁠
⁠
As Jeff will tell you, his father was initially hesitant about his Son's foray into the w**e business but was still there to plant vines and watch as the w**ery began to flourish. ⁠
⁠
He loved a Shiraz and the 'Leston' Shiraz quickly became a firm favourite. Before, his passing Leston signed a case of the Leston Shiraz that Jeff keeps in his personal cellar. Each year they crack open a bottle and use it as an excuse to relive their favourite family memories. ⁠
