Philosophy:
Our winemaking philosophy at Tertre is about capturing the unique essence of both terroir and varietal characteristics. Whether we're sourcing grapes from Frankland River, Margaret River, our vision remains the same: terroir and varietal-driven wines. If a varietal isn't complete on its own, blending is the key to delivering what wines are known for worldwide—their compelling story. M
eaning of the Label:
The name "Tertre" and consequently "L'enclos du Tertre" holds special significance. It translates to an enclosed area on a hillock—a precise, delimited space where consistency can flourish. Just as terroir can vary, we believe it's essential to define specific areas to ensure consistency in winemaking. The label design, resembling an old explorer's map, reflects our knowledge and history rooted in Europe while embracing the precision and modernity of our wine style. Where the longitude and latitude lines intersect on the label is the exact location of our vineyard, emphasizing the precision that goes into crafting our wines. The back label, written in a stream-of-consciousness style, invites contemplation about the wine's origin and the land it comes from. In essence, the key words of our label design mirror the keywords of our wine style—precision, history, and a sense of place. Clémence’s Wine Journey:
