This week we completed a workshop with a fantastic organisation called Small Mighty CSR to develop a Sustainability Strategy with a view to becoming a carbon neutral office within 12 months! It’s surprisingly easier than you think!!

Our goals are to:
- reduce waste: Law Firms are traditionally notorious for using A LOT of paper. We have recently introduced new software that has allowed us to become almost paperless. We’re calling ourselves “paper-lite”.

- Carbon reduction: by making sure computers, monitors, lights, heaters etc are all turned off when not in use; and by attending Court hearings electronically where possible to reduce transport energy cost.

After reducing our emissions as much as possible we will offset our remaining emissions to become carbon neutral!

It looks like STAMP DUTY will be COMPLETELY ABOLISHED for first home buyers purchasing homes less than $600k!

This is a HUGE windfall for first home buyers!

Great news for First home buyers!

The Victorian Government has announced that it intends to increase the First Home Owner Grant (FHOG) from $10,000 to $20,000 for new homes built in regional Victoria and valued up to $750,000.

This will apply for contracts signed from 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2020.

Eligible first-home buyers of new homes in metropolitan Melbourne will continue to receive the $10,000 FHOG.
