Proud to share that we have been named Exporter of the Year at the 2026 Australian Manufacturing Awards 🏆

The award recognizes Fusesaver, a Queensland innovation that helps keep the power on in rural communities in over 35 countries. Congratulations to co-innovator, Brett Watson, and the team who developed it in Queensland and took it to the world. Congratulations also to all finalists and winners at last night's awards.

Peter Halliday said the award reflects the impact Australian innovation can have on the world stage. "This award is a testament to the power of local ingenuity combined with global scale to improve power reliability and resilience for communities around the world."

Thank you to our customers for trusting Fusesaver on their networks and to everyone involved in making it happen.

The best sign that a building is working well is that you never notice it. 🏢

From workdays to live events, study halls to overnight stays, so much of life happens somewhere indoors. Across New Zealand, our building tech keeps those spaces comfortable and running in the background.

That doesn't happen through technology alone. Our long-standing partnerships with Setpoint Solutions in the South Island and Building Technology Limited (BTL) in the North Island mean someone is paying attention to the details before anyone using the space ever would, keeping systems a step ahead rather than catching up.

150 years of work in New Zealand has been built on partnerships like these. Our celebrates that milestone, with a prize pool that includes match tickets at Eden Park and a stay at Horizon by SkyCity, two of the many indoor spaces shaped by this kind of work.

The future of critical infrastructure will be defined by intelligent operational data.

Last week, we brought together customers, partners and industry leaders for our first Future of Operational Intelligence event in Sydney. Together with our partners Synertec and Mescada, we explored how AI, cybersecurity (in relation to SoCI Act) and human-centered design are reshaping future SCADA systems and industrial operations.

It was great to hear about how is shaping operational intelligence from:
⚡Gema Deus Vazquez, Global Power Generation, who talked about it powering renewable energy operations in Australia,
🏙️Rory Blakey, SAGE Automation, reflected on Sydney Harbour Bridge lane change systems, and
💧Chris Hector, iTSi Solutions, who spoke on SCADA design in water and wastewater for a local council in New Zealand.

Real-world examples, already at work shaping . The diversity of discussions on how WinCC OA is being applied across data centers, water, tunnels, and renewables showcased that the platform isn't just advanced – it's built for what's next.

Every container that leaves our Yatala facility carries a Queensland idea to the other side of the world.

Fusesaver is designed and built in Queensland, then packed and shipped to the US, Brazil, Ireland and more. It’s the world’s fastest medium-voltage circuit breaker, clearing power faults in 10 milliseconds. It helps minimize the risk of a fallen line sparking a bushfire and helps keep rural networks running.

The scale behind our Exporter of the Year nomination for the Australian Manufacturing Awards:
✅ 35+ countries running Fusesaver
✅Estimated ~760,000 hours of rural power outages avoided
✅Estimated ~38m km of travel for network repair saved

That's Australian manufacturing doing what it does best.

Ten milliseconds is how fast Fusesaver clears an electrical fault before it can turn into a bushfire risk. Built in Queensland, it just made us a national finalist.

We're proud to share that Siemens is a finalist for Exporter of the Year at the Australian Manufacturing Awards 2026.

What started as a local idea now protects an estimated 100,000 km of power lines across 35 countries, helping keep rural communities safer from bushfires along the way.

Winners are announced in Melbourne on 8 October. Fingers crossed 🤞

Our Global Head of Data Centers, Ciaran Flanagan, calls it the biggest transformation the industry has seen in 20 years. One number shows why: the thermal runaway window that once gave you 30 minutes to react now leaves you seconds.

That shift is changing how data centers are built. It's setting new benchmarks for cooling design and moving the conversation beyond workload assumptions to the behavior of the microprocessor itself. Flanagan also unpacks why moving data centers to direct current at scale is far from trivial, and why modularity is emerging as the lever to manage that shift.

How we respond to the AI revolution is being shaped by something less visible but just as important: the infrastructure that makes it all possible.

Celebrating 150 years in New Zealand! 🎉

The Awards Gala Dinner was a fitting way to close out a remarkable day. And a moment to reflect on what's made 150 years in possible: the partners, the people, and the projects that have helped power, connect, and build the country.

From the Lyttleton Timeball in 1876, to wind turbines helping drive New Zealand's energy transition, signalling systems keeping 36 million Wellington rail journeys running, the Royal New Zealand Navy becoming the first in the world to achieve unmanned space on a warship, and building solutions supporting around 80% of New Zealand's airport passengers and two-thirds of its university students. 150 years of work that matters.

Live performances, a keynote from Kevin Biggar, a man who knows a thing or two about pushing through the impossible to reach something extraordinary, and awards recognising outstanding contributions across the industry made for a night worth remembering.

Great are the foundation of everything we've built, and everything still ahead. Here's to the next 150 years. 🤝

is here, and New Zealand's key industries have shown up. 🤝

The room was buzzing as the industry came together to share knowledge, challenge thinking, and explore what comes next for the country.

The day opened with welcome remarks from Jorg Kampschreur, Peter Halliday and Justin Farrell, followed by a keynote from futurist Paul Spain.

From there, the agenda spanned water and infrastructure, AI and digital transformation, and power and energy. Shout out to our presenters:

Leila Azizi talked about Siemens' new gen AI-powered Eigen Engineering Agent.

Daniel Hillhouse on totally integrated power systems.

Odneil Misquitta covered SCADA systems that scale with operations.

Simon Morgan discussed the opportunities in New Zealand's data centers industry.

Scott Allen delved into intelligent and predictive maintenance.

Lars Weber presented about Siemens Xcelerator as the launchpad of .

From water and energy to infrastructure and manufacturing, today's conversations showed how much impact technology and strong partnerships can have across New Zealand's industries.

Proud to be part of this event, and looking forward to celebrating our 150th anniversary at this evening's gala dinner.
