This will be my last post for awhile . I am heading off to Thailand to get my teeth sorted. Although I practice good dental hygiene all my 60's and 70's fillings have dropped out and I have four missing teeth. I'm also going to get some cosmetic things done. I've always been embarrssed about my teeth . I got a quote done locally. Wait for it $40K! F that!
The dentist went on to tell me he was one of the cheaper ones about. His name was Costa as in cost a lot ! If he calls $40k cheap he is living in lala land.
It has become increasingly clear to me, dentistry is the domain of the rich. The cost of dentistry in Thailand is around 1/4 of the price. But still $10K is a fair whack. Really I have no choice unless I am auditioning for a role as a pirate!
So to my 3 regular followers thanks for the support it is appreciated.
You'll hear from me when I get back and in the meantime good luck and good gardening to you all (only older NZer's will know who always said this).

Hi ate us !
I was up in Darwin a few weeks back and I have decided to post a few of the trip.
Interesting place Darwin . Both the city and the outback and wetlands were stunning. I'll post a few more shortly.
The pics willl be a mix of landscape and cityscape, with a few portraits as well, like this one taken at an art show in the Darwin.

I've just been reminiscing on line about music...favorite song/band etc and I got a sudden urge to revisit some of my old pics of me back in my music days in NZ. Sadly my passion for playing and song writing has disappeared . The two images I have posted were taken in the late 80's.Yes I did sing but admittedly I was fairly awful however I felt at the time that if I wrote a song I had to sing it. Our lead singer (Alan Galloway) was pretty average as well and between us we sounded like a bison and goat with cattle prods up our respective bums !

I love photographing all things water. I can often be found hanging around fountains and anything that sq**rts out water.
The key thing is to set the shutter speed on your camera to a speed of over 1/1000th of a second, in order to freeze the motion of the water.
This image was taken while I was sitting in the car facing into the light. It is made up of two parts, to the left I captured the sq**rt and the right part is the smear of the windscreen wiper.

I wish I was living back in Beaumaris where this image was taken.
Our old flat was one minute from the beach and it was simply a hop,step,jump and plop ....instant relief

The sky last night. I used an ash tray as a tripod and shot it from the balcony.
