In some parts of the world, families celebrated Father’s Day over the weekend, which provides a chance to recognise the effort, contribution, and love that fathers bring to the family unit.

Father's Day is a time to celebrate all father figures and remember those who are no longer with us or are separated by distance.

Here are some of our team celebrating dads!

We're excited to announce we're the first water corporation in Australia to be certified as a family friendly employer.

Family Friendly Workplaces, an initiative of UNICEF Australia and Parents At Work , recognised our initiatives that support employees to meet their work, family and wellbeing needs.

Supporting our employees in their work and personal lives is vital for a great work-life balance. The certification is a result of our commitment to having leading policies and practices on flexible work, parental leave, family care and family wellbeing.

We know that more than 65 per cent of the people who work with us have caring responsibilities, so we’re well aware of the impact our initiatives can have on their lives.

This week we hosted our latest education session for our Employer Members, moderated by Angela Priestley, Founder of Women's Agenda and Emma Walsh, Founder of Parents At Work.

During the event, Kate Furlong - Deloitte and Kim Annesley - Cube Group, shared their invaluable experiences in building the business case for change and designing a smooth parental leave transition experience. They also discussed the profound impact of parental leave on individuals and their respective businesses.

Thank you for the great post Diversity Council Australia and all the wonderful work you do for employers across Australia too πŸ™Œ

To be clear, I believe in a fair, equitable and inclusive Australia for all. For me, that means supporting a Voice to Parliament as a pathway to help achieve this for First Nations People.

Team Parents At Work (and Family Friendly Workplaces) is back in full swing this week with many of us having returned from our end of year holiday activities.

So what's on the agenda this week? Clearly a whole lot of fun amidst policy & contract writing, client servicing, meetings (yes plenty of those in the diary already) and much more.

Great to be back in 2023...

Last night we had a team get together to celebrate the happenings of 2022 and prepare for a well deserved end of year break.

With many of us working remotely, some close to 100% of the time, it was great to sit down and take stock of the year and share a meal at night.

This year the Parents At Work office will close on Thursday 22nd of December, reopening on Monday 9th of January. We'll send a reminder of these dates as the time draws nearer.

In the meantime, enjoy the end of year celebrations from all of us at Parents At Work.
