FIA Submission to the Productivity Commission

The FIA has provided a submission to the Productivity Commission on the Housing Supply Regulation Inquiry: Interim Report. The reform directions will move a substantial share of Australia's housing pipeline out of detached dwellings and into Class 2 Buildings, in which fire protection systems are a condition of occupation. The FIA is supportive of this shift, however, raises concern around regulatory settings designed so that fire protection is resolved early and predictably.
