Forced contraction, constant tension and controlled movements, the keys features in 80% of my new programming

This being one of my current favourites, the reverse hack. I have performed this movement many times before but with this particular one I set my feet slightly further back, with hips driving back and down, being sure to drive through the heels with a strong forced glute contraction at all times. I don’t aim to over load the weight but more to isolate the loading points

🤗 Its NO 100k 🤷🏼‍♀️ but....

I have spent the past few years sharing with you all the many facets of my life, my experiences, memories, years of hard gained knowledge, hours of hard work spent in a gym and many achievements all in hopes to inspire, educate, motivate and help others learn, live, laugh and love.

So THANK YOU to all those who have supported me throughout this time and encouraged me to keep pushing the envelope on the daily.

So although I’m NO insta famous fitness model or social media celebrity, to the ones that matter I know I have helped shape there lives and guided them in making better decisions and as long as my 6 year old thinks his mummy is a Super Hero..... I’m WINNING 🦸🏼‍♀️

Massive progression for me, with this particular movement pattern

Only months ago I was bed ridden and absolutely crushed by the occurrence of a blown L5 -S1 and was advised that movement alone was going to be limited with no chance of squatting/hinging forward.

But with the help of and weeks of rehab work I have managed to progress from sitting on the edge of a bed without crying to 140kg Sumo deadlifts, 100kg box squats, 90kg RDL’s and now last week removing the box and hitting this 80kg Smith machine squat with comfort. I’ll try the squat rack next time 🤗🤞🏻

Still a lot of work to go, but it’s progression so I’m happy

One of my fav Hamstring developers.

This Smith machine variation with toes elevated, places intense stress and tension on the hamstring and glute without aggravatingly my lumbar at all.

On a big leg day I would work my way up to about 100kg but it’s also acts as a great super set as shown here.

For a more intense stretch have toes elevated on plates and keep the knees as taunt as possible.

If you look closely I also prefer to hold the bar in an under grip/reverse grip position to avoid forearm strain and unintentional bar lock out.
