Some events and workshops you do because you are working a strategy. Some you do because it serves a greater purpose.

Wednesday night was all about the latter.

Young professionals learning to connect. Established professionals reconnecting. Students taking their first nervous steps to connect with the business community.

Attendees at our LinkedIn Local - Darwin Networking Practice session learned:

- listening for opportunities
- entering conversations
- answering "what do you do?"
- how to lead the conversation

Looking forward to the next one!

With how fast things are changing, having a growth mindset is key for professional success these days.

Whether it's learning cutting-edge technical stuff or building people skills, being open to continuous development unlocks awesome opportunities.

First things first – lean into unfamiliar situations that stretch your abilities. Say yes to new territory even if it initially seems out of your comfort zone. Reframing challenges as chances to grow is clutch.

Also, having clear learning goals gives direction when navigating new ops. Setting your targets makes slip-ups into pitstops instead of roadblocks along your journey.

Making these moves part of your regular routine puts rocket fuel in your skill progression. You become a lifelong learner who rolls with whatever abilities tomorrow's work world throws at you.

But yeah - it does mean you have to be willing to be a learner again. And if you haven't learned anything new for a long time, that might feel a little uncomfortable.

And that's ok. Take small steps first. You've got this.
