Something happened at an event I was serving at recently that really stayed with me, and I wanted to share it with you this week. 💭
I was serving a room full of smart, motivated people had just spent the day getting clear on exactly what they wanted and why it mattered. Real focus. Real honesty. Real momentum.
Then we took a break and I watched so many pick up our phones....
And I thought to myself; this is the challenge, isn't it? Not the lack of knowing what matters. But protecting our attention long enough to actually do something about it.
Our brains aren't designed for constant switching. The prefrontal cortex, the part responsible for focus and good decisions, runs on a limited daily budget. And right now, there's a lot competing for it.
So this week's challenge is simple: a small attention audit across three areas.
📵 At work -create one focused block, notifications off, dedicated to your most important task.
🍽️ In your relationships - choose one phone-free moment each day. Even small pockets of real presence matter more than we realise.
📲 For your own growth - review your feeds and apps. Ask honestly: does this serve me? If not, remove or replace it with something that does.
You don't have to overhaul your whole digital life this week. That's NOT what I am doing either. Just start with one honest question:
Where is my attention going - and is it taking me where I want to be? 💕
