At 48, Iâve built what many people now call a portfolio career.
But the truth is, I didnât set out to create one.
Like many women, I was already doing it every single day without realizing it.
I was working full-time in a corporate management role, managing a household, raising children, handling school schedules, doctorâs appointments, budgeting, planning, problem-solving, and making sure everyone elseâs life ran smoothly.
Women are natural project managers.
We coordinate, organize, negotiate, multitask, lead, and adapt constantly.
The difference is that most of us only use those skills inside our homes and workplaces.
A few years ago, I started asking myself a different question:
What if I could use those same skills to build something for myself too?
Today, alongside my corporate career, I have diversified into the digital business space. Iâm a business coach, mentor, and team leader working with people from different parts of the world.
And no, it didnât require me to quit my job, learn complicated technology, or start from scratch.
I simply learned how to apply the skills I already had to a structured business model that gave me the ability to build something outside of my 9-5.
That decision has given me more options, more confidence, and more peace of mind knowing that everything doesnât depend on a single employer, a single paycheck, or a single role.
The world is changing.
Many professionals are no longer relying on just one career path for the next 20 years.
Theyâre creating portfolios of skills, experiences, businesses, investments, and opportunities that work alongside each other.
And if youâre already managing a career, a home, a family, and a hundred responsibilities every week, you probably have far more transferable skills than you give yourself credit for.
The question is not whether youâre capable.
The question is whether youâre willing to explore what else is possible for you.
If youâd like to learn how I diversified while working full-time and raising a family, connect with me. Iâd be happy to share what helped me build something beyond just one job title.
