🔎 Reviva Reuse Shop Mystery Item of the Week

Last week’s mystery item certainly had us intrigued! 👀

Our ex-military followers were quick to share their knowledge, while a few clever sleuths picked up clues from the labels and controls.

There were a few different theories, but the consensus seemed to be that it was a military vacuum tube tester, used to test and diagnose the vacuum tubes found in older military equipment, including radios and radar systems.

A big thank you to everyone who shared their knowledge and helped us get a little closer to solving that mystery! 👏

Now for this week’s mystery...

This unusual piece looks like it was designed for a very specific purpose, but what on earth did it do? 🤔

Do you know what it is? What would it have been used for? And how did it work?

Tag a friend who might recognise it and help us solve the mystery! 🕵️

One person's scrap became a gift made with love. 💚

Edward transformed a discarded stainless-steel tank, wire mesh, scrap timber and salvaged fittings into Sandfly 121 - a one-of-a-kind sculptural letterbox created for his daughter.

It's a reminder that reuse isn't just about saving materials from landfill. Sometimes it's about turning forgotten items into something meaningful, personal and built to last.

What could you create from materials others have overlooked?

Know someone who is always making clever things from salvaged materials? Send this their way and encourage them to enter the Reviva Reuse Competition.

🔎 Reviva Reuse Shop Mystery Item of the Week

Last week’s incredibly beautiful piece of pewter turned out to be a Royal Selangor pewter w**e funnel, with a decorative design inspired by Gothic or floral tracery in an Art Nouveau style.

What a beautiful piece to uncover! 👏

Now for this week’s mystery... and this one has us completely stumped 🤔

With all those dials, gauges, switches and instruments, it certainly looks like it once had a very specific job to do.

Has anyone worked with something like this before?

What is it, and what would it have been used for?

Tag a friend who might recognise it and help us solve the mystery 🕵️

See potential where others see old furniture? ✨

Carley spotted this buffet at Reviva and gave it a fresh new look. After a little work and a coat of paint, she completed the makeover using k***s rescued from another piece.

That's what the Reviva Reuse Competition is all about. Giving materials a second life and creating something worth keeping.

Take a photo, tell us about your piece and enter before Sunday 15 November.
