🌻 From waste to something wonderful ♻️

This incredible sunflower sculpture was created by Reviva customer Margarete using items that would have otherwise gone to landfill.

Her husband, a master farrier, used two rasps a week so instead of throwing them away, Margarete saved them to create her favourite flower 🌻

With horseshoes from their own horses, an old sickle for the stem and an umbrella stand as the base, every piece has been given a second life.

With help from the local Men’s Shed, who welded it together, this scrap has become something truly special 💚

It’s proof that with a little creativity and community, waste can become something wonderful.

Resource Recovery Australia is looking for a Depot Hand to join our team at Reviva Reuse Shop!

Love making things look amazing?
We are looking for a casual depot hand who has an eye for presentation, a passion for reuse and sustainability and enjoys creating beautiful, welcoming spaces for our customers.

What you will bring:
✅ Experience in creating eye-catching displays and merchandising stock
✅ Making our Reviva Reuse Shop look inviting, organised and presentable
✅ Assisting customers with friendly, helpful service
✅ Sorting, pricing and presenting saleable items
✅ Contributing ideas and creativity to help our shop shine
✅ Ability to work as a team and independently
✅ Is physically fit and happy to be hands on

Roster
Week 1:
Tuesday 10am – 2pm
Thursday 10am – 2pm

Week 2:
Tuesday 10am – 2pm
Thursday 10am – 2pm
Saturday 10am – 2pm
Sunday 10am – 2pm

Additional shifts may become available to cover leave and busy periods.

Using the long weekend to tidy up at home? If you’ve got items you no longer need, bring them into Reviva Shoal Bay and give them the chance to be reused and re-loved. ♻️💚

We’re always looking for quality donations, from furniture and homewares to books and more. And while you’re here, have a browse… you never know what you might find!

🔎 Reviva Reuse Shop Mystery Item of the Week

Last week’s mystery item had a few of our followers guessing quickly 👀
It turned out to be vintage German sugar tongs, used to make Feuerzangenbowle, a traditional German drink.

A cone of sugar is placed on top, soaked in rum and set alight. As it burns, the caramelised sugar slowly melts into the drink below 🔥
