Denmark Chamber of Commerce

Denmark Chamber of Commerce Supporting, promoting, and advocating for businesses and community within Denmark and the Great Southern region, of Western Australia

We envision a thriving, collaborative community where local businesses are prosperous, and contribute to a healthy environment and the stable employment of its residents. The Denmark Chamber of Commerce Inc. supports, promotes and protects the commercial interests of the Denmark community and its regions. With an estimated population (30th June 2020) of 6,370, Denmark has retained its village atmo

sphere and community connections whilst embracing a steady growth in population estimated at approximately 2.49% per annum. Its coastal, rural and forest environment and the community culture that has grown as a result of these features, have all contributed to the character of the town and a key reason for lifestyle based population growth. The Denmark Chamber of Commerce believes that the economic growth of Denmark will continue to be driven by the small to medium enterprise sector seeking lifestyle choices. Supporting innovative economic development so people can build financially viable businesses that in turn support employment and contribute to the lifestyle and environmental values of the community, will be important to ensure sustainable family business development that continues to contribute to community activities. The growth of sustainable tourism, health and aged care and the associated need for housing amongst these markets will be the important economic drivers into the future enabling global marketing supported by improved technology usage and faster internet speeds.

Advocacy is one of the most important things we do.
This week I had the privilege of representing Denmark businesses at the RCCIWA Members Forum in Perth, joining regional chamber leaders from across WA to ensure the voices of our business community are heard by decision-makers.
We discussed everything from housing and workforce shortages to energy, tourism and regional infrastructure. We know these conversations matter to our members. The decisions made in Perth have real impacts on businesses here in Denmark.
As a Chamber, our role is to address local issues and ensure regional businesses have a seat at the table.
Thank you to Regional Chambers of Commerce & Industry of WA for creating these opportunities to connect directly with government, industry leaders and policymakers. Strong regional advocacy helps create stronger regional communities.

Celebrate the incredible up-and-coming talent in our farming communities by nominating a Young Farmer for the Great Southern Farmer Awards
Link in the post below

We are proud to sponsor the ‘Young Farmer of the Year’ award category at this year’s Great
Southern Farmer Awards.
This award recognises a farmer aged between 18 - 35 who is emerging within the industry. Bringing
fresh ideas, stepping into leadership positions, with a positively infectious energy. They represent
everything exciting about the future of our Great Southern agricultural industry.
Nominations are open for every farmer across the Great Southern region, and can be submitted by
everyone from farmers, families, local businesses, community groups and anyone who believes our
Great Southern farmers deserve their moment in the spotlight.
As this year’s sponsor, we encourage you to submit a nomination for a farmer in this year’s awards so
we can show them they are seen, valued and celebrated.
