Exciting news for the commercial and industrial solar space!!👏🏻👏🏻
This has been a side of our business that’s been significantly down over the past couple years due to reduced funding.
Another step in the right direction.

The Victorian government will wipe up to $25,000 off upfront installation costs for a 100 kW rooftop solar system, and up to $34,300 off a 200 kW system to reduce cost burden from transmission network upgrades, and lower consumer energy bills.

HOW TO NOT BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN WITH THE NEW FEDERAL BATTERY REBATE LESSON 2

Hey all, me again!

This was always going to be my second bit of advice. I guess it just took a bit of a news day nudge to get me going.

I believe the most important thing you can do in our industry is pick your installer.

Many large sales companies have tried massive scale rollouts in the residential solar and battery market and they all eventually fail.

Their biggest problem is finding installers.

None of the reputable installers will work for them because they push the price down to a point you can’t take your time to do a good quality install.

So the pool of installers these sales companies end up with is all the new, inexperienced ones to the industry that haven’t built up years and years of trust required to be a referral based company.

The reason this exact model has failed before and will fail again is warranty. Systems poorly installed don’t work or cause safety issues. The pile up of warranty work becomes overwhelming for the sales company because when their installers have to start going back to their jobs they’ll just disappear. There was only just enough money in it for them in the first place, they won’t go back to fix anything. All this work then ends up in the lap of the sales company that didn’t factor this into their cheap cheap pricing.

All of the bad rap the renewable industry gets, comes from bad integrators.

HOW TO NOT BURN YOUR HOUSE TO THE GROUND WITH THE NEW FEDERAL BATTERY REBATE LESSON 1

Might be a little bit alarmist in the heading but I am genuinely concerned with the new federal battery rebate. I’ve seen every introduction of government assisted renewables and the fallout’s of poor implementation of them.
With batteries I’m especially concerned due to their inherent risk.
The point of this post is to highlight that there will be brand new batteries and battery installation companies that spawn from this new era and barely any of them will be around for the length of their warranties.
Choose wisely!!!!
I’m going to do some more posts in the coming weeks on how you can be one of the informed consumers that can stand to make benefit from battery rebates.

Cheaper Home Batteries Are Here!

Starting 1 July 2025, the Australian Government is rolling out its Cheaper Home Batteries Program, offering an upfront rebate of approx. $370 per kWh of usable battery storage.

That means a typical 13.5kWh home battery could save you around $4,995 off installation costs!

This rebate is part of a $2.3 billion federal initiative to support over one million battery installations by 2030 – helping households, small businesses and communities cut energy bills and take control of their power.

Program Highlights:
• $370 rebate per usable kWh
• Save up to 30% on battery installation
• Eligible for systems from 5kWh to 50kWh
• Available from 1 July 2025
• For homes with solar (new or existing)
