Throw back to 2022 on this day.

A vine shoot with “pox marks” on one side. All of the marks appear along the same axis (i.e. all on the southern facing side of the vine).

Diagnosis?

This is an example of springtime hail damage. Hail stone strike vines and leave little impact marks, and also tear up leaves. All of the damage is one on side of the vine because the hail stones were falling at an angle.

So far 2026 springtime hasn’t had any hail storms, and there is no damage like this.
