There was 'no escape' for the village custodians yesterday as we held our 2024-2025 Nyamup Holiday Village AGM in the great Nyamup Hall!

We discussed a lot, and I mean A LOT of things, including preserving the heritage of the village, water wise gardens, and most importantly; celebrating the incredible work and many years of service of Karen Wallbank as our (now outgoing) strata manager and go-to gal for the last 15 years! 💐 💚 Thank you Karen and team!

It's the final day to appeal the EPA's recommendations on bauxite miner South32's expansion plans!

Are you having your say to protect the forests, biodiversity, land and water communities depend on?
Up to 3855 hectares of Australia's life-filled Northern Jarrah Forests are proposed to be destroyed by South32's Worsley mine expansion. The EPA has recommended the bauxite mine expansion for conditional approval but South32 don't have the green light yet!

To protect our ancient and amazing Jarrah forests for wildlife, water, climate, and communities, it's critical that we all appeal now.

How were plants used in the past and what is the folklore associated with them? If you want to know this tour is for you.

It starts at the Chestnut Lab and takes you around the garden looking at historical plants and what they were used for in gardens of old.

You will hear stories and the history of plants used by witches and how and why they are used today, how different cultures used plants, and how we at Chestnut Brae use these plants. Once you return to the Chestnut Lab, you will be offered a chestnut leaf tea with a chestnut biscuit where we can discuss plant stories further.
