Happy World Wombat Day! 🦡🍷✨

Today is a very special day for our team at Steels Gate. Thanks to YOUR incredible support, we’ve just donated an additional $1,715 to —bringing our grand total raised to date to $8,365! 💛

Many of you know the story of Ewok, the wild wombat who wandered into our Yarra Valley vineyard during the day, suffering from severe sarcoptic mange. With guidance and treatment kits from Mange Management, Ewok made a complete recovery and inspired us to take action.

To celebrate World Wombat Day and keep saving lives, we’re proud to highlight our NEW "Ewok’s Pack"—available now directly on our website! 🍇📦

🍷 The Pack: A curated 6-bottle selection of our handcrafted Steels Gate w**es for $285.
🩹 The Impact: $40 from every pack sold goes straight to Mange Management.
💛 The Promise: $40 funds 1 complete treatment pack—meaning EVERY SINGLE PACK SAVES A WOMBAT.

Enjoy exceptional, cool-climate w**e while giving Australia’s favorite native animals a second chance.

👉 Tap the link in our bio to order your Ewok’s Pack for $285 today!

What does "dry-grown" actually mean — and why does it matter in your glass?

It's one of the most important decisions we've made at Steels Gate: removing artificial irrigation entirely and letting our vines rely on natural rainfall and deep root systems that have been searching for water since the 1970s.

We've written a full explainer on the blog — everything you need to know about dry-grown viticulture and why it shapes every drop we pour.

Same philosophy. Same dry-grown approach. Completely different w**es.

Our Home Block Chardonnay (Steels Creek) and Melba Block Chardonnay (Dixons Creek) are both unirrigated, both from vines planted in the late 1970s and early 1980s — and they taste nothing alike. Because terroir is real, and dry-grown vines don't lie about where they come from.
