And as such, I have made it my mission to connect business owners with economic freedom through financial education. Drawing upon over 20 years corporate experience, I have developed financial programs and resources that challenge the stigma attached to the complexity of understanding financial data, to simplify and financially elevate business owners to build the business of their dreams. Questioning doesn’t mean failure ... it means something needs adjusting.

When effort outweighs reward, reflection is natural.

Try this:
➡️ Ask: What would need to change for this to feel worth it again?
➡️ One honest answer is enough.

Clarity opens options.

You don’t hesitate to:
• like their posts
• share their wins
• buy the merch
• hype the success

But when it’s someone you actually know?
Suddenly it’s quiet.

Support doesn’t always have to be financial.

Sometimes it’s:
• sharing the post
• sending the referral
• saying “I see you”

Community isn’t built on words.
It’s built on action.

💬 Who’s a small business or friend you could actively support today?

Expenses tell a story about how a business operates.

They reflect the systems, tools, resources, and choices that support the work being done.

Reviewing them occasionally helps ensure they still align with the direction of the business.

Which expense deserves a closer look right now?

Payment plans are often a sign of misaligned timing ... not failure.

When obligations aren’t drip-fed throughout the year, lump sums become unmanageable.

Try this:
➡️ Identify which obligation triggers payment plans.
➡️ Reverse-engineer what you’d need to set aside monthly to avoid it.

Planning replaces panic.

You’re booked out.

Your team is flat out.

The phone keeps ringing.

Sales are up.

You’re working more hours than you probably want to admit.

So can someone please explain…

WHY THE HELL IS THERE STILL NO MONEY?

👆 If that question made you feel slightly uncomfortable, Episode 238 is for you.

Because one of the biggest traps we fall into as business owners is believing:

BUSY = BUSINESS IS GOOD.

It doesn’t.

You can be booked solid with badly priced work.

You can increase sales and actually make your cash problem worse.

You can stretch your team beyond capacity and wipe out the benefit of the extra work.

You can make a profit and still not have the cash.

And you can be working every night and weekend because you’ve quietly become the person subsidising the business with your time.

This week, I’m not coming to you as a financial coach.

I’m coming to you as a fellow business owner.

Because I know what BUSY feels like.

And sometimes the answer isn’t another customer.

It isn’t another $100,000 in sales.

And it definitely isn’t another ten hours of your time.

Sometimes we need to stop and ask:

What is all this busy actually producing?

🎙️ EPISODE 238: The Business Is Busy. So Why Am I Still Broke?

If you’ve ever looked at a packed diary and then looked at your bank account and thought…

“This makes absolutely no sense.”

🎧 Go listen to this one.

And when you're done, I want you to ask yourself one question:

Where is the money getting stuck in MY business? https://open.spotify.com/show/1J1f9Iyhrvx7dnhP6DoxWp?si=33703d30b77545c7&utm_name=sked&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_content=sked_6a9611e9fed9580010502330

Income grows when capability grows.

In business, money follows:
• better decisions
• deeper understanding
• stronger judgement
• fewer repeat mistakes

Chasing money without building skill is fragile.
Building skill creates momentum that lasts.

Knowledge compounds.
So does confidence.

Short-term wins fade.
Capability pays you again and again.

💬 What knowledge would make your business stronger right now — even before it makes you more money?

I find myself having frequent conversations with business owners who find themselves cash short ALL THE TIME, and in the same breath tell me that their pricing strategy is simply to match what everyone else in the industry is doing. 🛑 🙈 Have you considered the dangers?

❗️Costing your products/services to compete with your competition only to find that the margin doesn't cover your own costs. 🤔 Consider this : your competitor may have lower overheads to you, so can afford to charge at this price. That doesn't mean you can. ✅ Review your costs, challenge them with your suppliers of those costs, and perhaps increase your margin to remain competitive.

❗️What if you can't reduce your costs any more ... and you find that you just can't maintain this margin to cover your costs enough to stay in business. 🤔 Consider this : there is a real opportunity to reflect on your marketing strategy when you are confronted with this scenario. ✅ You could adjust your marketing strategy to demonstrate the value proposition of your product/service.

❗️When you prices are fixed and there is no where to really adjust either the price or the costs associated with getting that product/service to market. This is not the time to give up. 🤔 Consider this : If your business is made up of more than one product/service, the likelihood of your products/services making different margins is high. ✅ You could therefore undertake a complete review of all your products/services in your catalogue to see whether there is enough margin overall, that may provide you with the leverage to continue to take the hit on one product/service but maintain a healthy margin as an overall business.

💡 Having a kick ass costing strategy in place that allows you to continually challenge, reflect and measure the effectiveness of your strategy on your desired margins, may just well be the answer to improving your cashflow and therefore improving your overall financial strength and health of your business.
